Actor Lee Jae-wook transforms into a doctor in the new drama "John Bur Doctor."

On the afternoon of the 21st, following OSEN's investigation, Lee Jae-wook positively considered the offer to cast in the recent new drama "John Bur Doctor" and decided to proceed with his participation.

The new drama "John Bur Doctor" depicts the story of a plastic surgeon, Do Ji-yi, who begins working as a public health doctor on the hellish island of Byeondongdo, where everyone avoids, and desperately endures by meeting various patients and residents over the course of one year. It began serialization on Kakao Webtoon in February 2022 and is still ongoing. The direction is handled by director Lee Myung-woo, known for producing the SBS drama "Hot Blooded Priest" Season 1, which surpassed 20% in viewership ratings, and the Coupang Play series "Boyhood."

Lee Jae-wook is expected to passionately portray the main character and plastic surgeon, Do Ji-yi, in the drama. He debuted in 2018 with the tvN drama "Memories of the Alhambra" and for the first time will portray a doctor character through "John Bur Doctor."

Lee Jae-wook, who gained great popularity from the 2022 tvN series "Alchemy of Souls," showcased "Royal Loader" on Disney+ last year and is set to broadcast his first fixed variety show since his debut, "Fresh off the Sea 2," this year.

Meanwhile, "John Bur Doctor" is currently casting major roles, including Lee Jae-wook, and scheduling discussions are ongoing.
