Actor Lee Jae-wook has announced his busy schedule, with his first fixed entertainment show followed by a new drama, "Jonnbeodakteo".
On the afternoon of the 21st, according to OSEN's coverage, Lee Jae-wook received the script for the new work "Jonnbeodakteo" and has decided to appear after a positive review.
"Jonnbeodakteo" is based on a webtoon of the same name and tells the story of a plastic surgeon, Do Ji-eui, who works as a public health doctor on the hellish island of Byeondongdo, where everyone avoids, as he meets various patients and residents over the course of a year. It started its first serialization in February 2022 on Kakao Webtoon and is still ongoing.
The direction of the upcoming "Jonnbeodakteo" will be handled by director Lee Myung-woo, who previously worked on SBS's "Hot Blooded Priest" Season 1, which surpassed a 20% viewership rating, as well as "Punch," "You Are Surrounded," "Whisper," "Convenience Store Saetbyeol," and Coupang Play series "One Day" and "Boyhood."
Lee Jae-wook plays the titular role of plastic surgeon Do Ji-eui. He debuted in 2018 with the tvN drama "Memories of the Alhambra" and will play a doctor character for the first time in "Jonnbeodakteo". Having gained great popularity from the tvN series "Alchemy of Souls" in 2022, Lee Jae-wook was featured in Disney+'s "Royal Loader" last year and is set to appear in his first fixed entertainment show, "Fresh off the Sea 2," this year.
Most importantly, Lee Jae-wook noted last August on KBS2's "The Seasons - Zico's Artist" that "Actually, there isn’t much time left before the military. I’m thinking about next year" and added, "I’m trying to engage in many activities until then."
As Lee Jae-wook is set to enlist this year, interest is growing as details about his fixed entertainment show and upcoming projects become clearer.
Meanwhile, "Jonnbeodakteo" is currently casting major roles and also discussing scheduling.
