Aespa proved its worth as a 'global hitmaker' with a series of awards in Japan.

On the 19th, Aespa attended the MTV 'Video Music Awards Japan 2025' held at K Arena Yokohama, achieving a remarkable four awards and capturing the attention of local fans with a powerful performance.

On this day, Aespa won a total of four trophies, including 'Artist of the Year,' and was recognized for the title track 'Whiplash' from its fifth mini-album as 'Best Group Video' (International), as well as winning 'Best Dance Video' and 'Best K-POP Video' for the title tracks 'Supernova' and 'Armageddon' from its first studio album, respectively. This marked the first record for a female artist in the history of the 'VMAJ.'

Aespa noted, 'We are happy that our music has reached so many people, and I want to thank all the MY in Japan who always support us,' and after receiving the awards, they performed 'Whiplash' with a standout stage that captivated the audience.

Previously, Aespa was awarded 'New Artist of the Year' and 'Best 3 New Artists' at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards, and with these wins at the 'VMAJ,' they have once again demonstrated their global popularity and presence through consecutive awards in global ceremonies.

Having made its official debut in Japan with the single 'Hot Mess' on July 3rd last year, Aespa recorded a sell-out show at Tokyo Dome, making it the first overseas female artist to perform there for two consecutive years, along with two arena tours, proving its tremendous local popularity.

Meanwhile, Aespa will participate in the large-scale urban music festival 'Summer Sonic 2025' in Tokyo this August, which attracts over 200,000 attendees each year.
