'Villains Everywhere' turned the living room into a chaotic laughter party right from its first episode.
The first broadcast of KBS 2TV's Wednesday-Thursday sitcom 'Villains Everywhere' (directed by Kim Young-jo, Choi Jung-eun, written by Cha Woo, Park Kwang-yeon) began with the hilarious ups and downs of the Onara family. The broadcast on that day recorded a viewership rating of 2.7% (according to Nielsen Korea, based on nationwide household data), indicating a fresh start amidst viewers' favorable reviews.
In the first episode, Onara's husband Seo Hyun-cheol (played by Seo Hyun-cheol) made a strong impact on viewers with his tough daily life. Late to an important meeting, Hyun-cheol encountered various challenges right from the morning. He was startled to find Onara in the bathroom when he opened the door and hurriedly changed after trying to go to work wearing his son's school uniform shirt. To make matters worse, he was shocked to discover his drunken daughter Seo I-na (played by Han Sung-min) collapsed in the elevator. He finally made it out on his way to work, but a mishap occurred when his car ran out of gas in the middle of the road, setting the stage for a rough day.
Meanwhile, with the help of his sister-in-law Song Jin-woo (played by Song Jin-woo), Hyun-cheol arrived at the company and attended the meeting safely. However, he was disheartened when Director General Kim (played by Kim Deok-hyun) threatened to take away the project from him. He intended to give a precious gift of alcohol to Executive Director Jeong I-gap (played by Jeong I-gap) for a promotion, but he was frustrated upon learning that his daughter I-na had filled the bottle with plum wine after drinking from it. So, Onara procured some alcohol for Hyun-cheol and attended I-gap's birthday party with him.
Onara's keen sense kicked in at I-gap's house. When shirts, shampoo, and perfume seen at the new apartment of the girl group FireFox member Baek Yeoshin (played by Eun Yu-ri) were also found at I-gap's house, she suspected the two of having an affair. Onara threatened I-gap by saying, "Let my husband continue working on the project. Otherwise, my truthful mouth will burst open."
Then, Onara raised the mood by passionately singing FireFox's 'Dangerous Relationship.' Unable to withstand Onara's pressure, I-gap approved Hyun-cheol's project. However, the situation escalated into chaos when Onara disclosed all the facts to I-gap's wife. When I-gap's enraged wife threw a cake in anger, I-gap threatened Onara by saying, "Do you really think your husband will be safe after this?" Yet, Onara responded indifferently, saying, "Mind your own business, Executive Director," bringing a sense of exhilaration to the living room.
In the second episode, Hyun-cheol was depicted as feeling exhausted due to a lack of personal space at home. In contrast, Jin-woo was infuriated by his reality of having to sit to urinate. The two attempted a counterattack against the sisters Onara and Yu-jin but ultimately faced defeat and left the house.
Meanwhile, Onara and Yu-jin spent a warm time preparing food for their husbands. However, as time passed and the husbands did not return, tensions escalated. Onara threw a pancake at Yu-jin, saying, "Is our jerk the reason your husbands can't come back? How fragile is our jerk? Isn't your husband giving him a nudge?"
In a fit of rage, Onara and Yu-jin drank alcohol and caused a ruckus in the playground at midnight. Upon hearing news of their drunken antics, Hyun-cheol and Jin-woo rushed over. Onara shocked Hyun-cheol by running out with nothing under her coat, while Yu-jin swung on a swing, evading Jin-woo. Their drunken behavior, which took the souls of their husbands, left a strong impression as the 'villain sisters,' providing hearty laughs for viewers.
'Villains Everywhere' quickly captured the attention of viewers of all ages from its first broadcast with the character play of diverse actors and its delightful storyline. Particularly, Onara's bold acting transformation in her first sitcom challenge and the comedic performances of So Yu-jin, Seo Hyun-cheol, and Song Jin-woo armed with humor effectively hit the laugh button of the living room. Additionally, Director Kim Young-jo's excellent direction further enhanced the characters' charm amid the cheerful atmosphere, adding to the enjoyment.
