Singer Koo Jun-yeob is creating a statue to honor his wife, Seo Hee-won, who passed away unexpectedly last month.
On the 19th, Taiwanese media Yiping News reported that Koo Jun-yeob is making a commemorative statue for Seo Hee-won, calling it the last gift to his wife.
Koo Jun-yeob held Seo Hee-won's funeral on the 15th at Jinbaoshan (Golden Treasure Mountain) in Taiwan. Only immediate family attended, including Koo Jun-yeob, their two children, Seo Hee-je, and Seo Hee-won's mother.
On that day, amid the rain, Koo Jun-yeob moved Seo Hee-won's urn himself while shedding tears. He appeared remarkably thin, to the point that his suit was baggy, evoking sympathy.
According to reports, Koo Jun-yeob has begun producing the statue of Seo Hee-won with a designer friend. The statue is to be erected in the area of distinguished stones, slightly away from Seo Hee-won's grave.
The family also supported the construction of the statue, and Koo Jun-yeob is said to return to Seoul to meet his family after waiting for the statue to be completed. The statue is expected to be finished within the year.
Meanwhile, late Seo Hee-won passed away at a hospital in Tokyo, Japan, on February 2. He had traveled to Japan with his family on the 29th of last month. On the third day of the trip, he was transferred to the emergency room but ultimately passed away due to pneumonia caused by the flu.
