Singer and actor Lee Junho has decided not to re-sign with his agency, JYP Entertainment, after 17 years.
On the 20th, a representative from JYP Entertainment stated, "We would like to inform that the exclusive contract between JYP Entertainment and artist Lee Junho will end on April 15th," and added, "After long and deep discussions, both parties have decided not to proceed with the re-signing."
JYP noted, "Lee Junho has been dedicating himself to both singing and acting since debuting with the group 2PM in 2008. Based on a strong mutual trust, we have signed several re-contracts over the years and have shared in the artist's shining moments," and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Lee Junho for accompanying the company's growth and journey over the past 17 years.
In particular, the agency expressed gratitude to fans, stating, "More than anything, we are thankful to the fans who have sent endless love and support in response to Lee Junho's efforts."
Lee Junho also expressed his thanks through the agency, saying, "I sincerely thank you for your unwavering support over the past 17 years. I will cherish the relationships and the value of the support I received while moving forward."
Finally, JYP added, "While the official contract will conclude, JYP Entertainment will always support Lee Junho's new challenges and brilliant endeavors," and noted that the agency plans to continue overseeing Lee Junho's activities in Japan while actively supporting any future collaborations that may be needed.
Meanwhile, Lee Junho debuted with the group 2PM in 2008 and began acting in earnest starting with the 2013 film "The Suspect." He has appeared in various projects including films "Twenty," "The Lady in Black," and dramas "Memory," "Chief Kim," "Just Between Lovers," "My Lovely Liar," "The Red Sleeve," and "King the Land."
