Kim Tae-ho, the producer, shared his thoughts on "Earth Monopoly World Tour 3" amidst the crisis theory.
On the morning of 20th, a production presentation for ENA and TEO's new entertainment program "Earth Monopoly World Tour 3" was held in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by cast members KwangTube, PaniBottle, and Wonji, as well as producer Kim Hoon-bum, who directed the program, and producer Kim Tae-ho, who planned the series. They discussed the program under the guidance of comedian Yoo Jae-pil.
The "Earth Monopoly" series features travel creators referred to as the "Three Greats of KwangbaWon"—KwangTube, PaniBottle, and Wonji—as they participate in a globe-trotting game designed by producer Kim Tae-ho, entrusting their fates to the dice while traveling around the world. The roller coaster-like journey around the globe is expected to deliver thrilling fun once again.
Despite these expectations, the gaze toward the production company TEO is not completely positive. The show "My Name is Gabriel," which sparked attention with its glamorous cast including actor Park Bo-gum and BLACKPINK's Jennie, recorded unexpectedly low viewership ratings in the domestic market, and currently airing entertainment program "Good Day" has faced viewer backlash due to controversies involving actor Kim Soo-hyun among its cast.
In response to a question about his feelings regarding this, Kim Tae-ho remarked, "I’ve been waiting for this question. In the case of 'Gabriel,' we prepared contracts concerning the format with a format company overseas, aiming to create a global format concept. We progressed while already generating revenue beyond the production costs through distribution and advertising. We are still negotiating formats with several places. Above all, 'Gabriel' contained a concept with a message I wanted to convey, so I happily carried it out."
Additionally, he noted, "'Good Day' is a format that I hoped would feature a variety of music entertainment, but the main content revolves around how music is formed, so I structured the storytelling around that. However, it’s disappointing that the songs are coming out later than expected. The 2049 ratings and global performance have been reported to rank first in several countries. The show is also performing well on Disney+, and since the remaining episodes will showcase the outcomes of the meetings, I hope viewers will look forward to it."
Moreover, he emphasized, "'Earth Monopoly' has established itself as a program we believe in, representative of ENA, so we have to pay even more attention to it. Since season 2 was successful, I thought we could just continue in the same way, but it seems like areas that weren't improving became exposed, so this time I pondered how we can do things differently and show new colors."
"Earth Monopoly 3" will air for the first time on Saturday, 22nd at 7:50 p.m.
