Wheesung's brother, Choi Hyuk-sung, who is also a doctor, conveyed his final message filled with gratitude.
On the 19th, Wheesung's brother said through TAJOYENT, "I would like to express my deep gratitude first to all the industry officials and colleagues who have come personally amidst their busy schedules or have conveyed their condolences through wreaths from afar," adding, "Seeing the wreaths filling the funeral hall and all of you who have constantly visited, I realized that my brother was able to shine brightly all this time thanks to those who illuminated him. Once again, I sincerely thank you."
He continued, "Although you may have many good memories from working with my brother, if you have any bad memories, please let them fade away now, and I hope you will not forget the person Choi Wheesung, a wonderful singer, and remember him for a long time."
In particular, the brother said, "Now my brother is at peace in eternal rest. He always struggled with severe insomnia after becoming a singer, but fortunately, the last image I saw of him was very peaceful and deeply asleep." He added, "So please do not be sad anymore and send my brother off well in your hearts. Also, to ensure that his precious music does not disappear or get buried in this world, I would appreciate it if you could play it as often as you have the opportunity; it would be a great comfort to our family."

Wheesung's brother is known to have graduated from Pohang University of Science and Technology and is currently the director of a well-known rehabilitation hospital, after passing through Korea University School of Medicine. Earlier, he announced that he would donate the full amount of condolence money sent by mourners during the funeral to a place that can positively impact society in Wheesung's name.
Meanwhile, Wheesung was found in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, around 6:29 p.m. on the 10th. He was 43 years old.
Gwangjin Police Station received a verbal report from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (NISI) stating that the preliminary autopsy result was 'cause of death unknown.' It is expected to take about two more weeks for the detailed test results to be released.

Above all, the deceased is highly regarded as the artist who led the popularization of the previously unfamiliar genre of 'R&B' in South Korea. His second album 'It's Real' is recognized as one of the greatest records, with the title track 'With Me' clinching first place on terrestrial broadcasts for six consecutive weeks and winning the Grand Prize at the Golden Disk Awards, enjoying explosive popularity.
