In "Solo So", Jang Seo-hee shared the difficulties of working on a drama while Hwang Jung-eum confessed the pain of being forced out.

On the 18th, Jang Seo-hee featured in the SBS Plus and E-channel entertainment program "Solo So."

On that day, Jang Seo-hee headed to Yangyang, Gangwon Province. Jang Seo-hee toured the various locations of Naksansa and offered a prayer. She explained the reason for her prayer, saying, "This year is the year of the calamity, and I hope to be safe for three years," meaning it was to avoid the calamity.

As such, Jang Seo-hee continued to pray earnestly for the annihilation of the calamity. Hwang Jung-eum noted that she hopes to meet a good partner, saying, "I want to meet a good connection and travel quickly," to which Hwang Jung-eum remarked, "If I get a boyfriend, it will be restrictive," and Jang Seo-hee replied, "I like it; I want to be restricted." She added that it was to avoid the calamity.

Jang Seo-hee recalled, "At 31, I was cast in the drama 'Mermaid' and took on my first leading role. I received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but I was anxious myself," adding, "So I consulted a monk, who suggested that I try doing 3,000 bows." Jang Seo-hee, who performed the 3,000 bows over nine hours at the monk's suggestion, said, "Immediately after, 'Mermaid' became a hit, and I wanted to carry that energy forward, so I did 3,000 bows every year for 10 years," which drew surprise. In fact, the viewership ratings rose from 4% in 2002 to 47.9%.

Jang Seo-hee also candidly revealed the mental struggles she faced after being cast in 'Mermaid.' She said, "I endured it out of spite," noting that thinking about the people who had hurt her during the revenge drama helped her perform well. When asked what kind of hurt she suffered, Jang Seo-hee recalled, "When I took on my first leading role in 'Mermaid,' daily dramas affected the news time," recalling the atmosphere where everyone was surprised that she became the lead while the three broadcasting companies paid attention.

Jang Seo-hee shared, "When I was cast as the lead, there were surprised looks, saying, 'How could an actor who always had small roles suddenly become the lead?' The atmosphere was such that I felt hurt, and the more they overlooked me, the more I felt inclined, thinking of the faces of those who disregarded me while performing. I thought, 'They're all done.'" She revealed the backstory behind her rise as the queen of revenge.

At this time, Hwang Jung-eum also shared, "I have a similar experience," stating, "I was cut from a scene for not being able to act well while studying abroad, yet I cheerfully said 'Hooray' when I left home," making an unexpected confession.
