The band Dragon Pony shared their thoughts on working with Antenna CEO Yoo Hee-yeol.
Dragon Pony held a showcase on the afternoon of the 19th at the YES24 Wonder Stage in Seoul's Seodaemun District to celebrate the release of their second EP 'Not Out' and discussed their new album.
The title track 'Not Out' uses the context of a baseball game to depict the youth's relentless pursuit of their dreams, delivering a message of hope and passion that if one does not give up amidst failure and despair, they will eventually achieve their dreams.
The lyrics resonate with anyone in their youth, blending the four members' intense musical energy. The properly placed instruments maximize emotional immersion, while Antenna's Yoo Hee-yeol contributed to the lyrics, enhancing the overall quality.
The members noted, 'This is a message we want to convey to those who feel that things are not going as they wish, including ourselves. The message is to keep trying regardless of the outcome. It's a song faithful to the fundamental elements of the band. We imagined scenes of everyone having fun together at festivals while working on the track.'
In response to a question about collaborating with Yoo Hee-yeol, Ahn Tae-kyu said, 'The CEO always provides a lot of advice during the work process, but the most impressive insight was about the direction of Dragon Pony. He advised that since we are a band, we must create our own worldview and conceptual identity. Based on that advice, this album contains much more autobiographical content compared to the previous album. We also made an effort to express our honest stories better through the CEO's guidance.'
