Broadcaster Jang Young-ran confessed that she has dyslexia.
On the 19th, a video titled "The shocking cause and treatment methods of 46-year-old Jang Young-ran, diagnosed with pre-dementia (decline in language ability)" was posted on the YouTube channel "A-class Jang Young-ran."
On this day, Jang Young-ran visited a brain specialty hospital and said, "Today, my tension is a bit low. I called yesterday to try to cancel the shoot," and expressed her worries by saying, "What kind of problem do I have that I fumble my words so much?"
She then lamented to the production team, "That's my charm. What if it comes out weird? Ignorance is bliss."
When the production team asked, "Since when did you start speaking strangely?" Jang Young-ran said, "To be honest, I will tell you. This is my first time revealing it. I had dyslexia. I read with a stutter. I read 'brain lesion' as 'stroke' and sometimes 'chair' as 'doctor.'"
She added, "So, in fact, the most difficult broadcasting was during my radio days. It was very stressful. I lost clumps of hair. I was dating my husband, but it was already tough dealing with my parents' opposition. Sometimes, when I get too nervous, the letters crawl by like worms. It was hard for six months. Eventually, I was cut."
