A second teaser video for 'Heo's Diner,' featuring the chaotic modern life adaptation of Siu-min, has been released.
The new drama 'Heo's Diner' (directed by Oh Hwan-min and Kim Kyung-eun / written by Seong So-hyun) is a fantasy comedy romance drama based on the web novel of the same name (written by Jeon Seon-young), where the problematic figure Heo Gyun from the Joseon Dynasty time travels 400 years into the present and unintentionally ends up running a diner.
The second teaser video, released today (19th), depicts the real survival story of Heo Gyun (played by Siu-min), who has time slipped from Joseon to the present, stimulating interest.
Heo Gyun, who possesses exceptional qualities such as a mysterious writing skill and outstanding aesthetic sense, to the point of being ahead of his time, provokes his colleague and friend Lee I-cheom (played by Lee Se-on) by saying, "Isn’t it right that we should reform outdated laws?" Judging that Heo Gyun is not helpful, I-cheom, who has achieved what he wants by any means necessary, decides to eliminate Heo Gyun, revealing a chilling true face that heightens the tension.
Eventually chased by assassins, Heo Gyun finds himself crash-landing in the modern era on the brink of death. Confusion is apparent in his trembling pupils as he surveys the unfamiliar streets, and he asks Bong Eun-sil (played by Chu So-jung), whom he meets for the first time in Seoul, "Where is this?" raising curiosity about why Heo Gyun, who lived in Joseon, time slipped 400 years into the future.
Meanwhile, Eun-sil, the daughter of a diner without a signboard, views Heo Gyun, who appears in front of the restaurant, unfavorably. However, faced with the situation of needing to take responsibility for her mother's diner and being unable to do anything as a born cooking fool, Heo Gyun showcases his genius cooking skills, bringing laughter. Eun-sil’s heart swells as she watches Heo Gyun replicate her mother’s dishes exactly.
As Heo Gyun and Eun-sil start a partnership, they grow closer, but a crack arises between them. Nevertheless, Heo Gyun expresses his sincerity by saying, "I don’t know how fortunate it is to meet you in an unfamiliar place," which touches not only Eun-sil but also the hearts of viewers. Anticipation builds for the main story that will unfold between these two individuals who have unintentionally found themselves running a diner, showcasing the delightful chemistry between Heo Gyun and Eun-sil.
'Heo's Diner' will engage all five senses regardless of age and is co-planned by Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures and Corpus Japan, set to premiere on the 24th (Monday).
