Park Bo-kyung delicately portrays the hidden pain behind her harsh demeanor in 'Mother and Mom,' maximizing the drama's immersion.

In the sixth episode of the Genie TV original drama 'Mother and Mom' (directed by Kim Cheol-kyu, written by Sung Yoon-ah and Jo Won-dong, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Betty & Creators), released on the 18th, Park Bo-kyung unleashed her long-suppressed emotions.

Ho-kyeong (played by Park Bo-kyung) struggles fiercely to hide the realization that her son Tommy, due to academic stress, is resembling her childhood self. The cool and perfect image of Tommy's mother, which Ho-kyeong strives to maintain, is overshadowed by past wounds.

During her middle school years, due to academic stress, impulsive stealing symptoms emerged in Ho-kyeong, leading her teacher at the time, Jia (played by Jo Min-soo), to leave the school to protect her.

As she sees problems similar to her own in Tommy, Ho-kyeong's pressure to hide this grows stronger. Caught between her instinct to protect her son and her difficulty in acknowledging her own wounds, she is pushed closer to the edge.

In this process, she confronts Jia, leading to dramatic developments. Jia directly opposes Ho-kyeong's coercive attitude towards Jason, the victim. This incident becomes a turning point that forces Ho-kyeong to face her past.

Park Bo-kyung seamlessly transitions between Ho-kyeong's desperate emotional changes, completing the character's narrative. Not merely a villain, she convincingly portrays a human aspect that inflicts further wounds due to her own pain, evoking empathy from viewers.

Meanwhile, 'Mother and Mom' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on channel ENA.
