The film 'Paran,' starring actors Lee Soo-hyuk and Ha Yoon-kyung, will be released in April.

On the 18th, the production team of the film 'Paran' (directed by Kang Dong-in, provided/produced by Tui J Studio, distributed by Merry Christmas and Sambaek Sanghoe) confirmed its April release and unveiled the first poster.

'Paran' is an emotional mystery that portrays the unexpected journey of a son of a perpetrator and a daughter of a victim, who, unable to die due to their family's sins, genuinely want to live.

Actor Lee Soo-hyuk, who has received acclaim for his outstanding character portrayal and presence through multiple works, including the drama 'Woo Shiwanghoo,' 'Tomorrow,' and the film 'Pipeline,' takes on the role of Tae-hwa, a clay shooting athlete suffering from the pain of receiving a transplant from his father, who has committed a crime, showcasing a wide range of emotional acting. Ha Yoon-kyung, who has developed a broad acting career with works such as the film 'About My Daughter' and the drama 'Gangnam B-Side,' appears as Mi-ji, living as a victim while hiding her wounds from wandering and criminal acts, confirming her solid capabilities.

In particular, the film 'Paran' raises a profound question about moral conflicts related to collective punishment, making it the first Korean film to address clay shooting as a theme, and poses the question, 'What if a criminal's organ were transplanted?' The harmony of emotion and mystery within the hidden twists of the case stirs curiosity.

Invited to the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival in the Korean Cinema institutional sector, it has garnered attention as a hot topic by drawing the largest on-site audience at the festival, illustrating a unique approach to the psychological tension and the guilt and pain experienced by characters surrounding the criminal through sensual direction. Director Kang Dong-in, who received the Special Jury Award at the 21st Beijing Film Academy Film Festival and the Gold Award for the group category at the 20th Korea Youth Film Festival for the short film 'Good Time,' is responsible for the screenplay and direction.

The title 'Paran' contains the meanings of a significant event that shakes the lives of the two characters, represented by the term parah (波瀾), and the hope of a new beginning, represented by the term paran (破卵), which signifies overcoming adversity and paving one's own destiny. With fresh themes and variations in genre, the movie 'Paran' is set to captivate audiences and film fans, and will be released in April.
