In 'Lovers of Joseon,' Kim Tae-won was denied a U.S. entry visa again. In particular, the possibility that it is not due to marijuana drew attention.

On the 17th, Kim Tae-won shared his unfortunate situation on TV Chosun's entertainment show 'Lovers of Joseon.'

That day, the story of Kim Tae-won's daughter's marriage was depicted first. Kim Tae-won called his daughter to ask about the Korean wedding, but she mentioned her boyfriend Demin's mother's sudden worsening health. It means she cannot attend the wedding in Korea due to a stroke.

In response, his daughter asked, "How about trying to come to New York if possible?" Kim Tae-won replied, "That's true, but the visa issue is frustrating," adding, "My heart is heavy, but I believe it will be resolved well."

To attend his daughter's wedding in the U.S., Kim Tae-won applied for an ESTA visa. However, he had to input personal information, and there was the question, "Have you ever violated laws related to possession or distribution of illegal drugs?" Additionally, when asked, "Have you previously been denied a U.S. visa or entry?" Kim Tae-won honestly answered, "Yes." Previously, Kim Tae-won had caused issues due to two incidents involving marijuana. He had been charged twice for marijuana use in 1987 and 1991.

Three days later, after the results came out, he contacted the production team. He was denied visa issuance due to two negative answers. Kim Tae-won said, "I need a lawyer now," expressing, "I'm trying to see my daughter." Currently, he is in a situation where only the ESTA visa waiver program has been denied. Ultimately, unable to resolve it on his own, he depicted seeking consultation with a lawyer.

Meeting with a lawyer who specializes in U.S. visas, Kim Tae-won noted, "Last March, my performance visa application was denied," and shared the current situation where he was denied ESTA after the performance visa. The lawyer stated, "We are looking at the previous March performance visa application denial, and the documents indicate ‘past offenses are forgiven’" and added, "The most likely reason is that he may not have had a visa interview, discussing potential issues related to the interview attitude at that time."

In response, Kim Tae-won mentioned, "I was ill at that time due to liver failure," stating he had a disease that puts him in a comatose state, adding, "It’s a disease that drastically reduces memory, and I was unwell at that time so I don’t remember. Now, I am completely recovered, so you don't have to worry."

Kim Tae-won reiterated, "I need to get my visa; will I be able to attend the wedding?" expressing his anxiety, conveying that he is in a more urgent situation than ever for visa approval.
