Singer Kim Yeon-ja, Hong Ji-yoon, Kim So-yeon, and Hwang Min-ho have achieved integration of the trot generation.
On the 17th, Kim Yeon-ja, Hong Ji-yoon, Kim So-yeon, and Hwang Min-ho appeared on Channel A's "Best Friends Documentary: Four-Person Table" and shared various stories.
On that day's broadcast, Kim Yeon-ja invited Hong Ji-yoon, Kim So-yeon, and Hwang Min-ho to her table. Hwang Min-ho said, "When I was 4 or 5 years old, I thought I could do well by following my brother's performances. My father listened to a lot of trot music, so it seeped into me without me realizing it. My debut stage was 'Mr. Trot' five years ago. I made my debut with a cameo on my brother's stage and challenged a trot competition a year later," demonstrating his explosive growth with a live performance of 'Bling Bling' and a Junggu performance.
Kim So-yeon, who caught Kim Yeon-ja's attention by placing second in the trot competition, said, "I always refer to Kim Yeon-ja as my role model. She debuted at a young age, continues to have longevity, and challenges different genres, which I find impressive." Kim Yeon-ja responded, "Kim So-yeon really has rich expressions and is known for practicing a lot. I heard that she came after practicing today," to which Kim So-yeon replied, "It's because my teacher is my role model."
Hong Ji-yoon said, "I majored in Korean traditional music and trained as an idol, but I couldn't give up music, even with my aching throat and injured leg. I only knew popular trot, so while preparing for the audition program, I learned more about trot, making it even harder for me." She added, "However, the traditional music practice of memorizing sounds without sheet music helped me prepare for the competition," particularly noting that she received advice from Kim Yeon-ja about her activities in Japan and is soon scheduled for a formal debut.
The four of them also blossomed in conversation about event-related topics. Kim Yeon-ja noted, "At times, I traveled to five places in one day and even took a helicopter." Hong Ji-yoon recounted, "I had this huge thing stuck to my leg, but I performed on stage without showing it," while Hwang Min-ho revealed, "Every time I have an event, my pocket gets filled with pocket money. I received 3 million won at the Yeonggwang event," evoking surprise.
To convey a message she wants to share with her juniors, Kim Yeon-ja performed 'Answer of Life.' Hwang Min-ho commented, "I think it was truly a precious time to have a meal with teacher Kim Yeon-ja."
Looking back on their time together, Kim Yeon-ja said, "We succeeded in generational integration. It was a serious conversation and a fun time. My wish is for the juniors to become great singers representing our country."
