"Revelation" director Alfonso Cuaron said to look forward to the performances of actors including Ryu Jun-yeol.

On the morning of the 18th, a production press conference for the Netflix film "Revelation" was held on the 2nd floor of Hotel Naru Seoul M Gallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Attending the event were lead actors Ryu Jun-yeol, Shin Hyun-bin, Shin Min-jae, and director Yeon Sang-ho.

"Revelation," based on the original comic of the same name, portrays a story where a pastor (played by Ryu Jun-yeol) believes that delivering justice against the perpetrator of a missing person case is a revelation from God, while a detective (played by Shin Hyun-bin) haunted by the ghost of her deceased brother pursues her own faith. It is a new work by director Yeon Sang-ho, known for creating films such as "The King of Pigs," "The Fake," "Train to Busan," "Psychokinesis," "Peninsula," "Jung-ee," "Hellbound," and "Parasyte: The Maxim."

This work stands out for the collaboration between director Yeon Sang-ho, who poses sharp questions about human instincts and offers a new and unique genre of fun, and writer Choi Gyu-seok, recognized for their innovative and fresh themes and immersive storytelling. Notably, this film involves acclaimed director Alfonso Cuaron as the executive producer, known for balancing both box office success and artistic quality with works like "Roma" and "Gravity," drawing significant interest and anticipation due to the collaboration between creators Yeon Sang-ho and Alfonso Cuaron. Additionally, the explosive performances of actors Ryu Jun-yeol, Shin Hyun-bin, and Shin Min-jae, who boast impressive synchronization with their compelling acting, create intense synergy.

On that day, director Alfonso Cuaron appeared via video and noted, "I participated as the executive producer of 'Revelation.' I am disappointed that I couldn't be there in person today, but I am grateful to share a few words through video." He added, "This film asks how our beliefs shape us and deals with the subtle boundaries between faith, humanity, truth, good, and evil. It is also an immersive psychological thriller completed by the overwhelming performances of Ryu Jun-yeol, Shin Hyun-bin, and Shin Min-jae. I hope this film remains with you for a long time and serves as a catalyst for various conversations."

Shin Hyun-bin said, "Our film cannot be all fun; it has heavy and dark scenes, but director Yeon Sang-ho allowed us to act comfortably and freely. We filmed very joyfully," adding, "Before filming, I was intrigued and couldn't believe the stories shared by director Alfonso Cuaron. As I heard the stories during the production process and watched the footage, I had new experiences thinking, 'This kind of work is possible.'"

Meanwhile, "Revelation" will be released worldwide in over 190 countries via Netflix on the 21st.
