Actor Lee Jun-young has newly appeared in the second act of 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.'
Lee Jun-young captivated global audiences with his portrayal of Park Young-beom, a pure and earnest romantic who gazes only at one woman, in the second act (episodes 5-8) of the Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' (written by Im Sang-chun, directed by Kim Won-seok), which was released on the 14th.
'When Life Gives You Tangerines' is a series that unfolds the life of Ae-sun, born in Jeju, a 'fiercely rebellious' character, and Kwan-sik, a 'clumsy' one, through the four seasons filled with adventure. Although they were born and raised together in Jeju, the series vividly depicts their pure teenage years, their unpredictable youth, and the tumultuous lives they lead through middle age as they face the challenges of life.
In the second act, from episodes 5 to 8, the story captures the growth of Ae-sun and Kwan-sik in their 20s as they confront a harsh world and become parents. Lee Jun-young, who plays Park Young-beom, the boyfriend of Yang Geum-myung (played by IU), made a strong impression from his first appearance, falling in love at first sight with Geum-myung during her entrance ceremony at Seoul National University and unable to take his eyes off her.
After enlisting in the military, Young-beom went to meet Geum-myung during his leave and crossed paths with Kwan-sik (played by Park Hae-joon), who had also come to Seoul to see his daughter. Young-beom, recalling Kwan-sik's face from the entrance ceremony, greeted him energetically, saying, "Hello, sir," which surprised Kwan-sik, who responded gruffly, "Why am I your father?" making the viewers laugh at Young-beom's flustered reaction.
Lee Jun-young portrayed Young-beom's adorable and loving side as he pined after Geum-myung, having been rejected no less than eight times. His solid acting skills, honed through numerous works, enhanced the immersion of the drama and heightened curiosity about the story to unfold.
The third act of 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' featuring Lee Jun-young, will be released on Netflix on the 21st. In the third act, viewers can look forward to seeing Young-beom and Geum-myung as they open a new chapter in their lives filled with romantic excitement.
