When Life Gives You Tangerines, Kang Yoo-seok exudes a strong presence and has made a lasting impression on viewers worldwide.

The Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines, just three days after its release, achieved 6th place in the Netflix global TV shows institutional sector and 4th place in the global TOP10 series institutional sector, leading to a global box office success. Interest in Kang Yoo-seok, who appears as 'Yang Eun-myung' in the show, is increasing.

When Life Gives You Tangerines is a Netflix series that unravels the adventurous life of 'Yomang-jin Banhang-a' Aesoon and 'Palbulchul Muso' Kwan-sik throughout the four seasons. Beginning with the spring segment in Act 1, the summer segment in Act 2 was released on the 14th, continuing to receive enthusiastic responses. In particular, Act 2 introduced 'Geum-myeong' as a university student and 'Eun-myung' as a middle school student, adding excitement to the storyline.

Kang Yoo-seok enriched When Life Gives You Tangerines by portraying the middle school student Eun-myung. Aesoon, summoned by the school concerning her son Eun-myung (played by Kang Yoo-seok), couldn't hide her excitement, believing she had become a member of the executive meeting discussing key school matters.

However, the reality was the opposite. Eun-myung was a troublemaker, having secretly sold the emblem lettering from a car, among other issues, and manipulated the recovery rights. The twist of the homeroom teacher summoning Aesoon to reprimand Eun-myung added to the humor. Particularly, Eun-myung's antics, constantly causing incidents, contrasted with his sister Geum-myeong (played by IU), who got accepted into Seoul National University, adding color to Aesoon and Kwan-sik’s life narrative.

The sibling relationship illustrated between Eun-myung and his sister Geum-myeong also sparked laughter. At Aesoon’s inauguration ceremony as an officer, she urged Kwan-sik to stop their mother while also taking care of her by saying 'Let’s switch' when Kwan-sik was carrying Aesoon. His playful demeanor while handing over Geum-myeong’s call from Seoul and muttering 'Mom, daughter is calling' showcased the chemistry of real siblings and resonated with viewers.

Given the significant role Eun-myung plays in Aesoon and Kwan-sik's life, expectations for Kang Yoo-seok, who perfectly portrayed this character, are high. Especially, the sorrow of Eun-myung, who is inevitably compared to his sister, is vividly expressed through his eyes and detailed acting of timid rebellion, evoking both empathy and affection for the character. In fact, Act 3 teases viewers with a glimpse of Eun-myung in military uniform, focusing attention on the story that Kang Yoo-seok will unfold.

Through When Life Gives You Tangerines, Kang Yoo-seok has reaffirmed his presence as an actor, sparking pleasant curiosity. As anticipation builds for Act 3 of When Life Gives You Tangerines, where his performance is expected to shine, he is set to continue his bustling career through various upcoming works like tvN's 'One Day, Seulgi's Life' and 'Seocho-dong' with the first broadcast next month.

Meanwhile, the third act of When Life Gives You Tangerines, featuring Kang Yoo-seok, will be released exclusively on Netflix on the 21st (Friday).
