Actress Song Sun-mi reflected on the time when she lost her husband.

On the 18th, actresses Jung Hye-sun and Song Sun-mi appeared in the 'Tuesday Guest' segment of KBS1's 'Morning Yard.'

When the topic of losing her husband came up, Song Sun-mi opened up, saying, "When I think about it, I feel like I spent the mourning period positively. There are processes like denial, anger, giving up, and acceptance, and I fully felt those processes."

Song Sun-mi said, "For 2 to 3 years, I did not emotionally recognize the loss of my husband. I kept dreaming about searching for my husband for three years. Luckily, I spent that time healthily while raising my daughter. Going through such experiences, I thought about how I could help others who are facing difficulties, considering that many people were worried and supportive, helping me get through that period. The reason I appeared on a program recently was to show that experiencing such events doesn't mean one has to live in hardship and sadness unconditionally; one can make other choices."

In particular, Song Sun-mi revealed that the biggest reason she was able to overcome her pain was her daughter. She said, "I explained everything to my daughter thoroughly. I thought it would be harder to hide things. I explained it suitably for her age. In doing so, I also engaged in a lot of self-discovery. One of those was writing a fairy tale essay. Although I never claimed this was a story about me, I wonder what thoughts my daughter might have while seeing it," adding, "My daughter is thoughtful and has a beautiful heart. She has been like that since she was young. After giving many gifts to others, she mentioned that she feels good when giving gifts to someone."

Moreover, Song Sun-mi said, "During this period, I discovered how to love myself. In the past, I chased love without knowing it, but now I love myself very much. Therefore, there is no need to chase love. I am very happy and doing what I want; this state is the best for me. If a wonderful person appears, I might consider it, but since there isn’t one right now, I have no thoughts of remarriage."

Song Sun-mi married Go Woo-seok, an installation artist from a background in art direction, in 2006, and gave birth to her daughter in 2014. After losing her husband in 2017, she has been raising her daughter alone.
