A 16-year-old Turkish man and an older Korean woman couple appeared.
On the broadcast of KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything' on the 17th, the love story of a Turkish man and a Korean woman couple transcending age, nationality, and prejudice was revealed.
On that day, the Turkish man and Korean woman couple appeared. They said they are a 16-year age gap couple who met through an application and continued their love. However, the woman, who shared her story, noted that she is a divorced mother of two, and they are troubled by the prejudice that their relationship is a romance scam.
The woman said, "I introduced him to my friends in Seoul. As soon as they saw my boyfriend, they asked me why I liked him. My boyfriend felt bad about it." Seo Jang-hoon noted, "It doesn't seem like a very natural flow, so that's probably why. I don’t think they mean any harm." Lee Soo-geun added, "In my view, it's just that the friends are extremely jealous," which drew laughter.
The woman remarked, "Some people have distanced themselves. After my divorce, I moved to Jeju Island, and they tell me to focus on raising my kids rather than dating. They say it’s ridiculous that I’m falling for a man." She also said, "Some people say that he must have a Turkish girlfriend or wife somewhere and that this is happening because of visa issues."
The woman surprised everyone by saying, "There were people who really hated us, and someone even reported my boyfriend as an illegal resident."
Seo Jang-hoon remarked, "Since he's a foreigner and might not know well, you can advise him to look into various things. You can worry, but think about other people's situations that you don't know much about. Consider how pathetic one can be."
The couple has proposed to each other and made promises for their future. Lee Soo-geun said, "You need to be more cautious. Since they don't know Korean life, they need to think about what they'll eat and how they'll live in Korea." Seo Jang-hoon said, "Every person is different. I think it’s unacceptable to force them to be the same as us," and encouraged them by saying, "To break the negative perceptions, they just need to live well together."
