The news anchor of 'Handsome Guys,' Cha Tae-hyun, has fallen to the number one subject to be avoided in team selection.
In the episode aired on 16th, tvN's entertainment program 'Handsome Guys' featured a special on 'Gangwon Province Noodle Road' with Choo Sung-hoon joining as a daily member in place of Kim Dong-hyun, while actor Kwak Si-yang appeared as a guest.
Having naturally joined the opening with the members, Choo Sung-hoon noted, “Dong-hyun is supposed to be here, but due to scheduling, I will only appear in one episode. Thank you.” When Lee Yi-kyung remarked, “You’re being definitive about just one episode. What about two?” Choo Sung-hoon replied, “Even just one episode is tough for me,” which drew laughter.
The following guest was Kwak Si-yang. Upon his arrival, he greeted his acquaintances Cha Tae-hyun and Lee Yi-kyung warmly and stated, “I’m honored to come on 'Handsome Guys,' where only top stars appear.”
Kwak Si-yang then expressed his fan feelings towards Choo Sung-hoon by calling him “subscriber” and suggested deciding team selection through rock-paper-scissors. He said, “Now that you are here to support, how about we pick by rock-paper-scissors with Hyung Sung-hoon?” Cha Tae-hyun judged, “That makes sense. There are eaters and non-eaters.”
Then Shin Seung-ho asked Kwak Si-yang about his eating habits. When Kwak Si-yang responded, “I eat well,” the members pointed to the news anchor Cha Tae-hyun and Lee Yi-kyung. Kwak Si-yang then expressed curiosity about how much the two would eat, and Lee Yi-kyung revealed, “Even if I eat a little, I enjoy it, but Hyung Tae-hyun makes you lose your appetite just by looking at him.”
Shin Seung-ho also noted, “I’ve had many meals with the two Hyungs. I’m sorry, Hyungs,” adding, “It stresses me out to watch you eat.” Oh Sang-wook chimed in, saying, “You hurry us to leave already,” which elicited laughter.
In the first round of rock-paper-scissors, Kwak Si-yang won without hesitation and chose Shin Seung-ho. In the second round, Choo Sung-hoon also took the great eater Oh Sang-wook onto his team. The only remaining members were the news anchor Lee Yi-kyung and Cha Tae-hyun. Kwak Si-yang won the final rock-paper-scissors, saying, “I’ll pick the one who would stress me out less,” and chose Lee Yi-kyung.
Ultimately, Cha Tae-hyun, who remained the last, fell to the number one subject to be avoided and joined Choo Sung-hoon’s team. Upon this, Choo Sung-hoon put his arm around Cha Tae-hyun and pressed, “Make sure to eat this time,” to which an embarrassed Cha Tae-hyun promised, “I’ll try hard to eat,” eliciting laughter.
This competition was conducted in a way where participants had to eat the representative noodle dish at each location leading to the Gangwon Province Noodle Road race, and then get a workout pass by answering a quiz. Upon hearing this, former athlete Choo Sung-hoon rejected the exercise, saying, “You can’t eat and immediately exercise,” and Oh Sang-wook agreed, “Absolutely not.”
The penalty was a day of part-time work at a noodle shop. Nevertheless, Choo Sung-hoon argued, “I’ll need time to digest. You need to wait 1-2 hours after eating,” to which Cha Tae-hyun responded, “Then you have to accept the penalty,” and laughed.
Meanwhile, Choo Sung-hoon expressed anger and provided laughter when Oh Sang-wook failed consecutively during the group jump rope mission. Choo Sung-hoon said, “Hey, it’s you again?” to which Oh Sang-wook replied, “I couldn’t concentrate.” Choo Sung-hoon pressed, “You couldn’t concentrate? Isn’t that because of your shoes? Take them off,” and Oh Sang-wook said, “No. They’re really good. Don’t worry. This is really the last time.”
Afterward, Choo Sung-hoon also took on spinning exercise. In contrast to Cha Tae-hyun and Oh Sang-wook, who breezily followed along since they had done it once, Choo Sung-hoon, experiencing spinning for the first time, showed a face that seemed to have lost its spirit. Especially when an instructor suggested dance and cute poses, Choo Sung-hoon appeared flustered, saying, “Let’s just exercise.”
