The late actor Kim Sae-ron's side has exposed the second letter of contents from Kim Soo-hyun's side and hinted at a legal battle.
Bujiseok, the legal representative of the late Kim Sae-ron's family from the law firm Buyou, attended the Korean National Police Agency at 2 p.m. on the 17th and submitted a complaint against YouTuber A, and held a press conference in front of the police agency with Kwon Young-chan, the representative for the bereaved family, and Kim Se-hee, the head of the 'Garo-Seto Research Institute,' to convey the family's position.
On that day, Bujiseok said, “The false statement has made it harder for the bereaved family, and I hope for a heartfelt apology even now,” noting that Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, had sent a second letter of contents after sending the first.
He said, "After the agency sent the first letter of contents, Kim Sae-ron sent a text to Kim Soo-hyun asking to be saved. In response, Kim Soo-hyun sent the second letter of contents. Briefly summarizing its contents, while it did mention, as stated by the agency, that 'it falls under breach of trust and cannot be helped,' it was essentially a demand that they must repay the debt within a given timeframe. It also contained threats not to contact Kim Soo-hyun and the actors from his agency directly, and a threat of legal action regarding the act of posting photos."
He continued, "In reality, after the second letter of contents, there was not a single contact from Kim Soo-hyun, and I could not reach other actors from the agency either. I can only imagine the psychological pain the deceased must have endured upon receiving such a letter. I do not understand why, at this point, they are waiting for the bereaved family's contact through a public statement. Legal responses against Kim Soo-hyun's side are under consideration."
Professor Kwon Young-chan shared the circumstances that led to the discovery of the second letter of contents. He stated, "We saw all the photos of the dishes from the beginning. We did not intend to disclose them. However, A claimed in a video that the photos were fabricated and the agency's claims were unfounded. (It was not that I posted the photos) but attempted to communicate with the agency, but I could not reach Kim Soo-hyun or the representative, and all actors from the agency were prohibited from contacting. I became an outcast. So, after contemplating, I posted the photos, and moments later, I received a contact. They said they would resolve it, so I took it down, hoping to handle it well, but the important thing is that the next day they sent the second letter of contents. There was none before that. Sae-ron was supposed to move on February 18 but ended her life before relocating. The moving boxes were in storage. Her mother was lying down and unable to do it, so her aunt brought the children and the belongings home. And while unpacking the boxes last night, the second letter of contents came out."
Regarding the contents of the second letter of contents, "there are threatening statements that if such photos are posted on social media or if there is contact with anyone from the agency, and if 'the queen of tears' suffers any damages because of such photos, they will be required to compensate in full," he noted. "Yet, they said they compensated 700 million won? They clearly showed documents that claimed a loss was processed. So who was trying to take that 700 million? Of course, to Kim Sae-ron, that's unimaginable large sum of money. However, for someone, that amount might not be considered a benefit from the agency. They even threatened that if this was not sent to this account number soon, they would file a lawsuit."
Bujiseok said, "How the late Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun broke up is unknown to us since the deceased has passed away, only Kim Soo-hyun knows. However, judging by the texts the deceased sent to Kim Soo-hyun asking to be saved, I can speculate there was a major dispute, so they did not part ways. Yet, while in a romantic relationship, a major incident occurred, and instead of providing support, someone pushed me away, but when I requested help, the answer was a threatening second letter of contents, so I would appreciate it if you could consider how the deceased might have felt. "
The family of the late Kim Sae-ron stated that this press conference was the first of many and revealed plans to take legal action against Kim Soo-hyun's side. Regarding the charges to be brought against Kim Soo-hyun, Bujiseok said, "We are reviewing various aspects, including the matter related to the letter of contents. I will be cautious with my words on that."
Meanwhile, the YouTube channel 'Garo-Seto Research Institute' claimed that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun dated for six years from 2015, when Kim Sae-ron was a minor, until 2021, and that even after the deceased was involved in a drunk driving accident in 2022 and faced financial difficulties, they pressured her to repay the 700 million won borrowed to manage the aftermath of the accident.
Kim Soo-hyun's side declared a firm legal response, asserting it was "a clear falsehood." However, as allegations and photos continued to surface, the agency issued an additional statement refuting it by stating, "Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron dated from the summer of 2019, after Kim Sae-ron had reached adulthood, until the fall of 2020."
Regarding the letter of contents concerning 700 million won, they emphasized, "If our company were to arbitrarily assume the penalty that Kim Sae-ron should be responsible for, it might lead to the establishment of breach of trust against the executives responsible for that decision, and there were concerns that the associated expenses would not be recognized as company expenses." They also stated, "It needed to be confirmed that efforts were made to secure the claim against Kim Sae-ron" and stressed, "The debt issue concerning Kim Sae-ron is entirely a matter between Gold Medalist and Kim Sae-ron."
