The appearance of actor Kim Soo-hyun in 'Good Day', who has been embroiled in grooming allegations related to the death of the late Kim Sae-ron, has been switched to private.
According to OSEN's confirmation on the 17th, MBC's 'Good Day' has made the full version of the fan-cam video of Kim Soo-hyun singing private on YouTube. This appears to be in recognition of the negative sentiment related to the allegations of a romantic relationship involving a minor in connection with the late Kim Sae-ron's death.
After the late Kim Sae-ron passed away on the 16th, Kim Soo-hyun was pointed out as one of the main reasons for the death due to claims made by the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' (hereafter referred to as Ga Se Yeon). According to Ga Se Yeon and the bereaved family, Kim Soo-hyun was in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron from 2015, when she was a minor, until 2021, and in 2022, despite experiencing financial difficulties after Kim Sae-ron caused a drunk driving accident and halted activities, he allegedly pressured her to repay the 700 million won borrowed to settle the accident.
Although Kim Soo-hyun's side declared that they would take the strongest legal action against obvious false information, Ga Se Yeon's revelations continued. Therefore, Kim Soo-hyun's side announced that they would reveal an official position based on clear evidence, but they rebuffed the claims made by Ga Se Yeon and the bereaved family, citing that Kim Soo-hyun was showing signs of psychological instability. According to Kim Soo-hyun's side, it is not true that he dated Kim Sae-ron during her minor years, and after treating the entire claim against Kim Sae-ron as uncollectible, they did not request repayment even once.
Subsequently, Kim Soo-hyun participated in the filming of 'Good Day' on the 13th, further fueling negative sentiment. In response, production company TEO explained that, "Even if Kim Soo-hyun participates in the recording, we planned to proceed with recording and sketch filming so as not to overlap as much as possible with other guests keeping in mind the deletion of footage. Since international broadcasts are pre-produced at least one week and up to two weeks before the broadcast time due to translation procedures, time for editing the broadcast was tight, so the 5th episode will be about 10 minutes shorter and less detailed than previous episodes."
Furthermore, the 'Good Day' side stated, "As long as the controversy surrounding the guests continues, we believe that the purpose of 'Good Day', which started with good intentions, as well as the hearts of the participants who shared sincerely, and the love of our viewers who empathize and support us, can continue to be damaged. The 'Good Day general meeting' filmed content on Feb. 18 will unfold over the next 6 to 7 episodes, and the production team has decided to edit out as much of Kim Soo-hyun's appearance as possible."
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun's side noted in response to the ongoing revelations, "We also confirmed the statement of the mother of Kim Sae-ron, who was made public through today's broadcast. We believe that any words of comfort are inadequate for the indescribable pain the mother has been undergoing since the loss of Kim Sae-ron. We feel deep sorrow and express our regrets for the pains the late Kim Sae-ron had to endure. However, there seem to be discrepancies between the assertions made by the mother and our thoughts. There may also be matters she has not yet been aware of. I think it is inappropriate for both the mother, who was looking for any means to restore the late Kim Sae-ron's honor, and the deceased to publicly settle this matter.
