Comedian Park Jun-hyung shared the first meeting between Jeong Jong-cheol and Oh Ji-heon.
The broadcast of KBS2's 'Boss's ears are donkey ears' on the 16th depicted the scene of Park Myung-soo, who served as a judge for the KBS public recruitment 34th comedian selection.
On this day, Park Myung-soo talked with Park Jun-hyung, a graduate of the KBS public recruitment 13th, before the audition on the judging day. Park Myung-soo said, "First of all, I'm from MBC public recruitment, but this is KBS, and it was Park Jun-hyung who made Gag Concert the biggest hit. I thought it would be a big help to hear good stories from Jun-hyung, so I called him."
In response, Park Jun-hyung noted, "I don't really understand why you called me when you're from MBC, and what you know about KBS comedy," emphasizing the differences in judging criteria between MBC and KBS.
When he asked, "Did you ever pick juniors directly when you were doing well?" Park Jun-hyung replied, "I was there from 2002 to 2007. Did a comedian enter then? I did. The biggest shock was when Oh Ji-heon walked in. I thought, 'It’s over. I can’t believe someone like that exists.'"
He went on to ask, "Who are the visual comedians?" and replied, "The next batch is Kim Young-chul. He had an unsuitable visual for broadcasting. And Ok Dong-ja (Jeong Jong-cheol), Park Hwi-soon," presenting a strong lineup.
Kim Sook, a comedian from KBS public recruitment 12th, also expressed agreement, saying, "Such individuals are guaranteed to pass with visuals right upon entry." Park Jun-hyung then shared an episode, saying, "Originally, the first exam is based on scripts, right? But (Jeong Jong-cheol) wrote 'Ddong ddong ddoro doro ddong ddong ddong' on the script as his comedy. The judges looked at it and wondered, 'What is this?' But later, it turned out to be a Tetris impersonation."
He particularly revealed, "The funny thing is that Oh Ji-heon came in, and Ok Dong-ja disliked him. Their relationship was really bad. I said, 'I really don’t want to work with that guy,' but I comforted him. I said, 'If you’re a 5-ton bomb and he’s a 5-ton bomb, then together you’d be a 25-ton bomb.' So that’s why we worked together."
