"SUNGWOO" Song Baek-kyung revealed his life after retirement.
On the 15th, the KBS2 entertainment show "Men Who Cook 2" launched a new project "Memory Sungwoo," featuring One Time's Song Baek-kyung as the first main character.
On that day, Song Baek-kyung appeared as the father of 9-year-old Song Ru-bin and 8-year-old Song Ru-an, sharing his recent updates. He said, "I got married in 2016 and gave birth to my first son in 2017, and I have been running breathlessly since then."
Eun Ji-won, who expressed joy at Song Baek-kyung's appearance, said, "It feels like a kid had a kid. He had the image of being the most boyish among boys." He continued, "I had no idea he had two children. He's a patriot, really."
Song Baek-kyung revealed the reason he had not appeared on broadcasts, stating, "I thought it wouldn't be suitable to show myself since I'm not living as a celebrity, so I refused even when grants were offered."
He added, "I have told my children not to mention it. I was once a singer and a celebrity, but since I'm not living that way anymore, I have been saying from a very young age not to talk about it."
After dropping off his two sons at a taekwondo academy, Song Baek-kyung visited KBS. He confessed, "I was a voice actor at KBS for two years." As for why he became a voice actor, he said, "The first child came along during my honeymoon. The first and the second both came from One Time. Suddenly becoming a father, husband, and head of the household, I thought about what job I could do that would allow me to earn a stable income while utilizing my skills, and I concluded that becoming a voice actor at a broadcasting station would be good, so I registered for a night class and attended."
In fact, Song Baek-kyung noted that he avoided broadcasts where his face would be shown and also worked as a voice actor for large company burger commercials and bank advertisements.
He noted that his appearance on "SUNGWOO" was for his children. Song Baek-kyung said, "As the kids start learning Hangul, they search for Song Baek-kyung. They can easily find videos of me singing and flying around on stage from the past. The kids ask, 'Dad, why aren't you on TV right now?' I didn't have much to say. Through my appearance on 'SUNGWOO,' I wanted to show that although I'm not a singer, I am living diligently in another way."
In particular, Song Baek-kyung mentioned that he stays in touch with the other members of One Time but spends less time together due to different paths. He said, "Danny has also become a father of two kids in the U.S. I last heard that Oh Jin-hwan runs a café in Jeju Island."
Regarding Teddy, the leader of One Time, he shared, "Teddy's path is completely different from mine. I feel awkward contacting him after such a long time. I saw him at my wedding." Eun Ji-won, hearing this, remarked, "Now it's Teddy who needs to reach out. I understand how you feel."
Meanwhile, Song Baek-kyung was also working as the owner of a skewered food restaurant. He said, with help from his mother, that it had been four months since opening, adding, "Family is the source of all strength. That's what keeps me going."
