The last journey of singer Lee (the late) Wheesung is being accompanied by many of his colleagues. Celebrities from the same time period, including singers Kim Tae-woo and Lee Hyori, Baby V.O.X, KCM, and junior IU, bid farewell to the late Wheesung.
As the mortuary for the late Wheesung is set up at Samsung Seoul Hospital on the 14th, a line of colleagues continues to pay their respects. A banner stating, "Artist Wheesung, he will forever be a star in our hearts" is hung at the mortuary, along with a portrait of Wheesung smiling brightly, which is the last time he met with friends.
Singer KCM and Kim Tae-woo visited the mortuary with serious expressions. KCM was originally scheduled to perform with the late Wheesung on the 15th, but the performance was canceled due to the sudden news. The group ICHILLIN' from the same agency also visited the mortuary to say their final goodbyes to their senior.
Additionally, Lee Ji-young and Lee Young-hyun from Big Mama, Song Baek-kyeong from One Time, singer Lee Hyori, Shin Eun-jin and Lee Hee-jin from Baby V.O.X, comedian Cho Sae-ho, and singers Ha Dong-kyun and Lee Ru, as well as IU, bid farewell to the late Wheesung.
Outside the mortuary, there were wreaths from Brown Eyed Soul's Naul and Deux's Lee Hyun-do, singer Jung Joon-il, and groups TWICE and BTS.
The late Wheesung was found dead on the 10th in an apartment in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The National Forensic Service reported to the Gwangjin Police Station that the initial verbal opinion was "cause of death unknown."
The bereaved family initially planned a quiet funeral with only family and friends in attendance, but after careful consideration, they decided to have a memorial time with those who remembered and loved the late Wheesung. Wheesung's brother stated, "Anyone who has happy memories from my brother's songs and music is encouraged to visit the mortuary without hesitation or burden, and we would appreciate you joining us so that he does not leave this world alone."
The funeral for the late Wheesung will be held on the 16th, and a farewell ceremony will take place at 6 a.m. that day. The burial site is the Gwangneung Memorial Park.
