Actor Yoo Yeon-seok, who is reported to have received a large tax reassessment notice, denied allegations that he intentionally omitted taxes.

On the 14th, Yoo Yeon-seok's agency, King Kong by Starship, issued a statement explaining that the income tax assessment resulting from the recent tax investigation was due to "a difference in interpretation and application of tax laws between the tax agent and the tax authority." It further noted that "the tax authority interpreted the income from a corporation that Yoo Yeon-seok operated for additional business and restaurant purposes over the past five years as subject to income tax, not corporate tax."

The agency also added that "the income tax assessment is not a matter that has been definitively finalized and announced, and it plans to actively clarify the issues related to the interpretation and application of laws in accordance with legal procedures." Yoo Yeon-seok has recently undergone a tax investigation by the National Tax Service and reportedly received a notice of tax reassessment amounting to 7 billion won.
