A Japanese YouTuber who came to Korea visited a budae jjigae restaurant in Seoul and faced poor treatment, sparking controversy. Popular travel YouTuber and broadcaster Pani Bottle (Park Jae-han) left a comment on the video uploaded by this YouTuber saying, "I am truly sorry for everything."
On the 12th, the YouTube channel "Countryside Sister Ayumi" posted a video titled "Japanese person on the verge of tears after the restaurant owner got angry and scary during a budae jjigae mukbang." Ayumi, who reportedly visits Korea often, recently visited a famous budae jjigae restaurant in Seoul. When Ayumi entered the restaurant and said, "There is one person. I want to eat budae jjigae," a man presumed to be the owner replied, "We don't serve one serving."
When Ayumi requested, "Two servings are fine. Please give me two servings," the man sighed deeply and said, "Sit over there." He continued by saying, "We normally do not sell one serving," expressing discomfort. Ayumi, looking embarrassed, said, "I'm sorry. I heard the budae jjigae here is very tasty, so I came."
The video included a caption that read, "The owner looks upset. It's a sad feeling while eating," and Ayumi showed a sad expression due to the ongoing insults. However, the restaurant's rude treatment continued. When Ayumi ordered soju, the man exclaimed, "I'm going crazy, you're asking for alcohol too," saying, "We don't serve alcohol during the day. We normally don't serve one serving."
At that time, the restaurant was quiet, and Ayumi reported that guests at the front table were even drinking alcohol. In response, Ayumi said, "I don't understand why you are angry," adding, "My heart hurts because I’m scared." Nevertheless, Ayumi stated, "Food has no fault," and quietly finished her meal.
The video quickly spread through various online communities and social media (SNS), evoking public outrage among netizens. Pani Bottle, upon seeing this, went directly to the video and left an apology comment, saying, "I am truly sorry for everything." Netizens reacted by saying, "The attitude towards customers is what will lead to the downfall of the restaurant," "This is not tsundere, it's just rude," "As a Korean, I'm sorry on behalf of this. It's a disgrace to our country," and "The owner seems insane. Is that how you treat customers?"
