The group LE SSERAFIM's mini-album 'HOT' will be unveiled today (14th) at 1 p.m.
LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae)'s new album 'HOT' embodies the attitude of dedicating oneself to what one loves. In addition to the title track 'HOT,' which features a pop genre infused with rock and disco, there are five songs, including 'Born Fire,' which impresses with its Korean, English, and Japanese narrations; 'Come Over,' which encourages being honest about emotions and enjoying the moment; 'Ash,' which accepts pain and finds beauty within it; and 'So Cynical (Badum),' which features contributions from Kim Chaewon, Heo Yunjin, and Hong Eunchae, boldly telling listeners to dive into love.
As various contents, including an album trailer, concept photos, highlight medley, and music video teaser, have garnered significant attention, we explored three reasons to look forward to their album.
# 'EASY-CRAZY-HOT' completion of a long-planned trilogy
'HOT' is the final installment of a trilogy following the mini-album 'EASY,' released in February last year, and 'CRAZY,' which was unveiled in August. The trilogy project, planned since 2023, has been prepared over a long time, with hints for the next album embedded throughout award shows and previous content. 'EASY' addresses anxiety and concerns behind the scenes, while 'CRAZY' conveys the message of throwing everything away and going crazy rather than succumbing to that anxiety. 'HOT' takes it a step further by addressing the attitude of willingly jumping into love, burning bright, and not hesitating regardless of the outcomes, showcasing the strengthening inner journey of LE SSERAFIM. Additionally, as 'EASY' and 'CRAZY' entered the main Billboard Hot 100 chart consecutively, expectations are high for the performance of 'HOT.'
# First 'love song' title track since debut
The title track 'HOT' features Heo Yunjin's involvement and is the first song among LE SSERAFIM's title tracks to sing about love. Through lyrics like, "You make me dream of miracles again," and "Don't be afraid, there’s no doubt / Take my hand," it conveys a message of diving in wholeheartedly for the one you love, even if the outcome is unknown. The members dedicated themselves to ensure that the sentiments of the lyrics were well conveyed during recording. The melodic nature of the song is noted as the most lyrical among their title tracks. A unique performance is also a point of interest. Having showcased old-school hip-hop in 'EASY' and voguing in 'CRAZY,' this time, the group is expected to captivate audiences with choreography that highlights the song's emotion and each member's individual feelings, rather than focusing on a specific dance genre.
# Proving 'world-class' through global collaboration
LE SSERAFIM continues to collaborate with renowned musicians and corporations. The credits for the title track include Feli Ferraro, who collaborated on 'UNFORGIVEN (feat. Nile Rodgers),' as well as Ali Tamposi, known for creating various hit songs, catching attention. British band Jungle's Josh Lloyd and Lydia Kitto participated in the song 'Come Over,' completing a track that blends Jungle's signature vintage vibe with the unique sound of the five members. Additionally, a preview of 'So Cynical (Badum),' included in the new album, was shared through a trailer for Blizzard Entertainment's team-based free action game 'Overwatch 2.' This marks their second collaboration after co-producing the music video for 'Perfect Night' in 2023.
LE SSERAFIM held 'LE SSERAFIM COMEBACK SHOWCASE 'HOT'' on the 13th, previewing the stage for fans. Starting on the 14th, a pop-up themed 'LE SSERAFIM 2025 S/S POP UP - THE HOT HOUSE' will be held at PLAZ2 in Seongsu-dong.
