Actor Kim Soo-hyun (37) clarified allegations that the late Kim Sae-ron (25) had been in a relationship since her minor years. Initially, Kim Soo-hyun's side indicated they would share their position next week, but they explained that they urgently distributed a statement as Kim Soo-hyun was showing significant psychological instability.
On the 14th, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Goldmedalist, issued a statement saying, "This morning, Kim Soo-hyun showed significant psychological instability," and added, "Our company has taken measures to ensure Kim Soo-hyun can attain absolute stability. Kim Soo-hyun is experiencing extreme confusion due to claims that the cause of the sudden death of the deceased is on him."
The agency, which had not acknowledged the relationship between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron, changed its position, stating, "Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were in a relationship from the summer of 2019, after Kim Sae-ron became an adult, until the fall of 2020," and emphasized, "It is not true that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron during her minor years."
Regarding the letter Kim Soo-hyun sent to the minor Kim Sae-ron during his military service, he stated, "It was one of the letters sent to close acquaintances," and explained, "The expression of wanting to see them was a light-hearted expression used by a soldier during military life to close acquaintances."
Regarding allegations that Kim Soo-hyun ignored Kim Sae-ron's financial issues, he stated, "It is not true," adding, "At that time, Goldmedalist paid off all remaining debt that Kim Sae-ron could not handle. Goldmedalist worked with Kim Sae-ron to resolve various penalties relating to her acting activities after the drunk driving incident and compensations to merchants who suffered damage due to the drunk driving."
The agency further stated, "It is unacceptable for Kim Soo-hyun, simply because he is a public figure, to accept numerous false facts and personal attacks unconditionally," and questioned, "Should he accept the disclosure of extremely private matters without consent, and must he endure all this due to the disclosure of his private life without consent?"
