The funeral hall for singer late Wheesung, who passed away suddenly, has been set up.
On the 14th, the funeral for late Wheesung will be held at Samsung Medical Center. The funeral hall will receive condolence visitors starting at 11 a.m.
Late Wheesung was found in cardiac arrest at an APT. in the Gwangjin District of Seoul on the afternoon of the 10th. He was 43 years old. Police reported that no signs of forced entry or indications of homicide have been discovered, and they have requested an autopsy from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation, which reportedly conveyed a preliminary verbal opinion of 'cause of death unknown' to the Gwangjin Police Station.
Initially, the bereaved family did not plan to receive visitors for late Wheesung. Wheesung's agency TAJOYENT noted, "Due to the tremendous shock and grief caused by the sudden news, the bereaved family is unable to proceed with the funeral arrangements" and explained the delay in the funeral, saying, "The bereaved family plans to proceed with the funeral as soon as they are able to gather their thoughts, and it will be held quietly with only family and close friends in accordance with the family's wishes."
However, after the autopsy of Wheesung was completed on the morning of the 12th, additional remarks were made, stating, "The funeral was initially to be held quietly with only family due to concerns for the health of his mother, but after much consideration by the bereaved family, they would like to prepare a time for remembrance with the many who loved and remembered Wheesung." They added, "We would be grateful if everyone who knew Wheesung and remembered his music could join him on his final journey so he would not be alone."
The late singer's younger brother also conveyed through the agency, "My brother always carried a deep loneliness that no one could console him through, and he lived fiercely, soothing and sublimating those emotions through music and song." He added, "Those who knew my brother and had even a moment of happiness through his songs and music, please feel free to visit the funeral hall and accompany him on his final journey so he won't feel alone."
Earlier, after the news of late Wheesung's passing was reported, many colleagues in the entertainment industry expressed their sorrow and conveyed their condolences. Members from MAMAMOO Solar, Seven, Ailee, Jessi, Fly to the Sky Hwanhee, Ali, Kim Young-cheol, Jang Seong-kyu, After School Jung-a, Ok Joo-hyun, Yoon Min-soo, Ha Ri-soo, Paloalto, San E, 2AM Lee Chang-min, Jo Kwon, and others have continued to mourn after three days since the singer's death.
In particular, the girl group ICHILLIN, a junior of late Wheesung's agency, paused their official activities to honor him, while STAYC postponed their comeback promotions. KCM, who was scheduled to hold a joint concert with Wheesung at the Daegu EXCO Auditorium on the 15th, expressed his shock by saying, "Let's meet on March 15... I'm sorry, Sung-a..."
Meanwhile, today (14th) at 11 a.m., condolences will begin at the funeral hall for late Wheesung set up at Samsung Medical Center. The agency stated, "We earnestly request that visitors refrain from interviews outside the funeral hall so the bereaved family and those involved can quietly remember the deceased. Please cooperate with the bereaved family's request to ensure they can bid farewell peacefully."
On the other hand, the funeral for late Wheesung is scheduled to be held on the 16th, and the burial site will be Gwangneung Memorial Park.
