'New Recruit 3' has teased a significant rise in humor, scale, and the difficulty of military life in its third season.
Genie TV's original drama 'New Recruit 3' (directed by Min Jin-ki and Jo Je-uk, written by Yoon Gi-young and Kang Go-eun, based on a work by Jang Ppijju, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by A2Z Entertainment and Story Island) has released a second teaser video announcing a hot comeback for the New Recruits, ensuring comedic discipline.
The 'New Recruit,' which started from the mega-hit anime, is a hyper-realistic military comedy that depicts the story of a rookie enlisting in a place filled with good guys, bad guys, and strange individuals. Returning with high expectations, 'New Recruit 3' dynamically unfolds the rising difficulty of military life faced by Park Min-seok (played by Kim Min-ho), as the mythical unit faces an emergency due to the unpredictable transfer of two new recruits and the comeback of an unprecedented villain, while Park Min-seok's promotion to corporal approaches.
The returning New Recruits, including Kim Min-ho, Nam Tae-woo, Lee Sang-jin, Jo Jin-se, Lee Chung-gu, Kim Hyun-kyu, Lee Jeong-hyeon, Jeon Seung-hoon, and Lee Soo-ji, are expected to once again hard carry their roles, evolving as much as their increased experience. The addition of 'new faces' Kim Dong-jun, Oh Dae-hwan, and Kim Yo-han, who will share the tumultuous period as Park Min-seok transitions to a senior soldier, is also a hot topic. Above all, director Min Jin-ki, who has broken the barriers between drama and entertainment by pioneering the 'K-Military' genre, collaborates with comedy master Yoon Gi-young to heighten the excitement for drama fans.
The second teaser video released that day hints at an emergency faced by the mythical unit. Park Min-seok rushes to inform Choi Il-gu with the words, 'How are you?' without finishing his sentence upon someone's comeback. His identity is none other than the unprecedented villain Seong Yoon-mo (played by Kim Hyun-kyu) from season 1. Although he had shown an unprecedented track record going straight from the mythical unit to prison, his return and tearful prayer for repentance leave everyone in the mythical unit bewildered. Whether it is sincere or part of another scheme, his chilling smile suggests an impending storm for the mythical unit. Expectations build on how the rising difficulty of military life for the mythical unit members will unfold, from the problematic transfer of new recruits to the comeback of the unprecedented villain.
Kim Min-ho will once again shine as 'Park Min-seok,' an elite soldier who is about to be promoted to corporal. He is said to suffer due to the increased difficulty of military life while welcoming 'Moon Bit-nari,' a new recruit who reminds everyone of his rookie days. Nam Tae-woo will continue as 'Choi Il-gu,' a soldier who faces chaos even in his final months, while Lee Sang-jin will portray 'Oh Seok-jin,' a slightly clumsy but the warmest squad leader, ensuring a sense of realism. Returning with a smile is Kim Hyun-kyu, who played the villain Seong Yoon-mo in season 1, along with Jeon Seung-hoon as the poker-faced soldier Im Da-hye, who is a senior to Park Min-seok. Additionally, Lee Soo-ji plays Park Min-seok's sister and a special instructor with great mental strength and stamina, 'Park Min-ju.'
The performance of 'new faces' Kim Dong-jun, Oh Dae-hwan, and Kim Yo-han is also anticipated. Kim Dong-jun, a global star from a child actor, will showcase extraordinary talent as the charming rookie 'Jeon Geun-woo,' while Oh Dae-hwan plays the love-filled, surprising sergeant 'Jo Baek-ho,' recently assigned to the second company. Kim Yo-han transforms into the extraordinary rookie 'Moon Bit-nari,' who recalls the rookie days of Park Min-seok with a timid personality and poor physical strength, showcasing a unique performance.
The production team of 'New Recruit 3' noted, 'Park Min-seok has entered an era where he can now be called a “senior soldier,” but his military life will become even more spectacular.' They added that 'if it's easy to be funny, then it's not 'New Recruit.' Expect even more outrageous humor and empathy.'
