The group Seventeen's new special unit HoshiXWoozi has demonstrated its presence as a representative of the '96 line with their single album 'BEAM', achieving impressive results in both China and Japan.
According to Pledis Entertainment on the 13th, 'BEAM' topped the daily and weekly 'digital bestseller album' single section on QQ Music, China's largest music streaming platform, on the 12th and ranked second on the annual chart. QQ Music calculates the annual rankings based on digital album downloads over the past year, and 'BEAM' rose to the top ranks just three days after its release. The top spot on this chart was previously held by the single album 'TELEPARTY' by BSS, released in January, demonstrating Seventeen's strong local popularity.
'BEAM' also entered at third place in the latest 'Daily Single Ranking' announced by Oricon in Japan on the same day (as of March 11). The album had already debuted at number one on the daily album chart on the day of its release.
The title track 'Same Age' is gaining buzz through its music video. The video has appeared on YouTube's trending rising videos in several countries/regions, including Korea, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and has reached the upper ranks of YouTube's trending music videos worldwide.
HoshiXWoozi is continuing the heat of their new release with diverse content. Starting with the dance challenge for 'Same Age' prior to the release of 'BEAM', videos featuring choreographer Choi Young Joon, BTS's J-Hope, Le Sserafim's Hong Eun-chae, and Seventeen's Jun and Wonwoo have been released sequentially, amassing over 48 million views (as of 7 a.m.).
Seventeen showcased its long-lasting popularity by placing both the Japanese single album 4th 'Shohikigen (消費期限/소비기한)' and the mini album 12th 'SPILL THE FEELS' at second place in Oricon's latest 'Weekly Single Ranking' (as of March 17 / counting period March 3-9) and 'Weekly Album Ranking'.
They are expected to hold fan meetings in two cities in Japan over five occasions from April to May, heightening their local profile. Prior to that, they will host '2025 SVT 9TH FAN MEETING' at Incheon Munhak Stadium on the 20th and 21st of this month.
