Actor Kim Soo-hyun has come under scrutiny over various allegations related to the death of Kim Sae-ron, as one of his representative advertisements has been switched to private.
According to confirmation from OSEN on the 13th, Homeplus has switched Kim Soo-hyun's advertisement posted on YouTube and other platforms to private.
Previously, Homeplus stated that they were monitoring the situation regarding Kim Soo-hyun's controversies, but they removed the main photo featuring Kim Soo-hyun from the app's home screen. While Homeplus has not officially stated the reason for switching the advertisement video to private, it appears to be in response to negative public sentiment regarding the recent death of Kim Sae-ron.
Particularly, attention is drawn to the special connection between Homeplus and Kim Soo-hyun. Homeplus successfully appointed Kim Soo-hyun as their model last year and recently announced the reappointment of Kim Soo-hyun as a model, marking the 28th anniversary super sale. However, they have been hit hard by the controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun.
Currently, Kim Soo-hyun is at the center of various allegations related to Kim Sae-ron's death. The YouTube channel 'Garo-Setero Research Institute' claimed that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were in a romantic relationship for over six years, and criticized the response from their management agency Gold Medalist during Kim Sae-ron's drunk driving incident as inappropriate. They specifically assert that the dating period occurred when Kim Sae-ron was still a minor.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side stated, "Garo-Setero has claimed that our agency and actor Kim Soo-hyun colluded with YouTube to harass actor Kim Sae-ron, asserting that Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun since she was 15, and that the agency's handling of Kim Sae-ron's drunk driving incident was inappropriate. They have made numerous malicious claims about our agency and actor Kim Soo-hyun, including that our agency's manager has connections with YouTubers. All of these claims are false and cannot be overlooked, and we are considering the strongest legal actions possible against Garo-Setero's dissemination of false information."
Nevertheless, suspicions continued. In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side stated on the 13th, "To rectify the facts and to respond to unfounded rumors, we will clarify our position next week based on clear evidence. We apologize for causing fatigue over the long period. We ask for your understanding to refrain from continuing coverage."
