Singer Choi Yena, a former member of IZ*ONE, expressed her feelings about challenging her first performance on terrestrial television with 'The Villains' Country.'
On the afternoon of the 12th, a production presentation for KBS 2TV's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The Villains' Country' (written by Chae Woo and Park Kwang-yeon, directed by Kim Young-jo and Choi Jung-eun) was held at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Actors Oh Na-ra, So Yu-jin, Seo Hyun-cheol, Song Jin-woo, Park Young-kyu, and Choi Yena attended and discussed the work.
'The Villains' Country' is a situational comedy drama that captures the sometimes rough yet warm daily lives of K-zumma sisters and their quirky families. Actors Oh Na-ra and So Yu-jin portray the villainous K-zumma sisters, while Seo Hyun-cheol and Song Jin-woo play their husbands. To this end, comedy veterans Seo Hyun-cheol and Song Jin-woo are joined by Park Young-kyu, who wrote a sitcom legend with 'Soonpoong Clinic.'
Choi Yena, a former member of the girl group IZ*ONE, is also drawing curiosity as she makes her sitcom debut after having a taste of acting in the web drama 'Girl's World Season 2.'
Choi Yena stated, "This is my debut work challenging acting for the first time on terrestrial television. It was actually difficult and scary. But while filming, I learned a lot by observing my amazing seniors who are deeply immersed in their roles."
She noted, "I am learning that if I immerse myself like my seniors, I can handle it. I am looking forward to the filming, which is exciting and enjoyable."
She also expressed, "As this is my first terrestrial acting debut in a sitcom, I am having a happy day every day because I am able to work in a genre I love. Please love our sitcom even more," she laughed.
'The Villains' Country' will premiere on the 19th at 9:50 p.m. and will air at the same time every Wednesday and Thursday thereafter.
