Singer Park Seo-jin shared his feelings about winning 'Current King of Singers 2'.
On the afternoon of 12th, a press conference for MBN's 'Current King of Singers 2' was held at the International Conference Room of Nuri Dream Square Business Tower in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included 'Current King of Singers 2' TOP7 Park Seo-jin, Jin Hae-sung, Enok, Shin Seung-tae, Choi Su-ho, and Kang Moon-kyung, who shared their thoughts. TOP5 Kim Joon-su was unfortunately absent due to a performance in a traditional Korean opera.
'Current King of Singers 2' is a survival entertainment program that selects the representative active singer of South Korea to participate in the 2025 'Korea-Japan King of Singers Competition.' After the competition, champion Park Seo-jin noted, "This is the first time I've come in first place. It still doesn't feel real. I have a lot of concerns about how to move forward from here."
The runner-up, Jin Hae-sung, said, "This is my third competition. Competing with active singers has been quite burdensome and nerve-wracking, but now that it's over, I feel really light and mixed feelings of joy and regret. I will work harder to show many good songs alongside my TOP7 colleagues."
Enok added, "It feels like I've just returned from a long journey. Usually, when you return from a long trip, there’s a mountain of things to organize, and a mix of happy and difficult experiences, right? I've been spending time organizing my surroundings, and since I gained a lot during the competition, I'm trying to incorporate what I've learned into myself. It was also a meaningful time for me, and thanks to it, I can look forward to the journeys we'll share with many companions."
Shin Seung-tae stated, "People often say they feel both relieved and regretful, but I feel no regret at all, just relief. I’m really happy and relieved that it's over. From now on, we seven will build strong bonds and create great stages to repay everyone as TOP7."
Choi Su-ho expressed, "I’m having refreshing and happy days. Just participating in 'Current King of Singers 2' has been a huge experience for me, and I’m glad to meet such wonderful people," while Kang Moon-kyung added, "Thank you for providing us with a stage to sing. I will do my best on the stage given to me in the future. Thank you."
In particular, when asked about the first person he contacted after winning, Park Seo-jin shared, "After being announced as the champion, I video-called my parents when I got off the stage. They were very happy and said they distributed a lot of rice cakes the next day. They told me they distributed rice cakes in Sacheon. When I showed them the champion belt, they said something terrifying like, 'Seeing you succeed like this, we have no regrets even if we die.' I hope to create a stage that will make my parents even happier."
Meanwhile, 'Current King of Singers 2' concluded with a nationwide viewership rating of 13.9% on the 25th of last month, marking its highest record.
