Actor Song Deok-ho, who faced controversy over charges of military service evasion, expressed his regrets after completing his military duty.
On the 12th, Song posted on his social media, "After completing my military service, I pondered how to properly greet everyone, and I thought it was right to apologize once again, so I leave this message with a cautious heart," and wrote a lengthy post.
He said, "To everyone who was hurt and disappointed because of my mistakes, I sincerely apologize once again. During my military service, I had many moments of regret."
He continued, "From now on, I will work hard to live more maturely and rightly. I will regard my past mistakes as valuable lessons and approach everything with a humble attitude," and bowed his head, saying, "I will do my best to become a better person in the future."
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Song was embroiled in controversy after attempting to evade military service by colluding with a military service broker to obtain a false epilepsy diagnosis in the summer of 2022.
His agency acknowledged that Song had received a grade 4 social service personnel assessment through improper means and apologized. Additionally, Song withdrew from the drama "Iroonly Scam" that he was set to appear in and took time for self-reflection.
In the subsequent trial for violation of the Military Service Act, Song was sentenced to one year in prison, with two years of probation and 80 hours of community service, and he accepted the first trial ruling without appeal, enlisting as an active-duty soldier in August 2023.
