The family of the late singer Wheesung (43·Choi Wheesung) opened a farewell gathering for those who loved and mourned him. They changed their initial plan to quietly conduct the funeral with only the family.
The agency TAJOYENT said on the 12th, "The family initially wanted to quietly conduct the funeral due to concerns for the mother's health, but after careful consideration, the family wishes to hold a time of remembrance with many who remembered and loved Wheesung." Consequently, a memorial space will be set up at the Samsung Seoul Hospital funeral hall in Gangnam, Seoul, starting from the 14th. The funeral will be held on the 16th, and the burial site has been determined to be the Gwangneung Memorial Park.
TAJOYENT requested, "We would appreciate it if everyone who knew Wheesung and remembers his music could join him on his final journey, which he spent lonely for a lifetime." An autopsy by the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (NISI) concluded this morning. It was reported that a syringe was found near his body. The police are determining the cause of death based on the findings provided by NISI.
Wheesung was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 10th. Since his solo debut in 2002, he has been recognized for his outstanding vocal ability and love for genre music in the domestic music scene.
