Actor Kim Soo-hyun is facing allegations of dating the late Kim Sae-ron in the past, prompting both the broadcasting and advertising industries to remain alert regarding future responses.
Recently, the YouTube channel "Garo-Setro Research Institute" (abbreviated as Gasae Yeon) claimed during a live broadcast that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with the underage Kim Sae-ron, causing a stir.
Regarding this, Kim Soo-hyun's agency Gold Medalist stated that "the claims made by Gasae Yeon concerning actor Kim Soo-hyun during the YouTube broadcast are clearly false" and noted, "We are considering the strongest level of legal action."
However, on the 11th, Gasae Yeon released numerous records, including phone calls with Kim Sae-ron's family, along with text messages and photos from the deceased's lifetime. These records contain content indicating that Kim Sae-ron was in a romantic relationship with Kim Soo-hyun in the past, drawing attention.
In particular, Gasae Yeon released a photo showing Kim Soo-hyun giving Kim Sae-ron a kiss on the cheek, emphasizing that Kim Sae-ron was just 16 years old in the 3rd year of middle school, a minor aged 15.
Amid these additional revelations, Kim Soo-hyun's side maintains its position that the allegations are false. However, as public opinion worsens, the impact is also spilling over to Kim Soo-hyun's upcoming projects and the brands he currently models for.
Currently, Kim Soo-hyun is active as a model for various brands including Homeplus, Shinhan Bank, Tous Les Jours, Dinto, Eider, Cuckoo, Prada, Jo Malone, and Shabu All Day.
As the controversy escalated, Eider removed images of Kim Soo-hyun from its official website and social media, while Shabu All Day also deleted all photos of Kim Soo-hyun that had been posted on its official social media.
Homeplus deleted photos of Kim Soo-hyun from its app loading screen, and LG H&H transitioned all advertising videos featuring Kim Soo-hyun, who worked as a model from 2012 to 2015, to private status.
Meanwhile, as interest is being drawn towards Kim Soo-hyun's upcoming project, the Disney+ new original series "Knock-Off," the "Knock-Off" team reported that the filming for season 2 is proceeding as scheduled, and there have been no changes regarding the issues surrounding Kim Soo-hyun.
However, on the 12th, Gasae Yeon continued to release additional revelations by unveiling a photo of Kim Soo-hyun kissing Kim Sae-ron on the cheek and what appears to be a handwritten letter by Kim Soo-hyun to Kim Sae-ron, raising attention on how Kim Soo-hyun's side will respond.
