'Current King of Singing 2' winner Park Seo-jin revealed his plans for using the prize money.
On the afternoon of Dec. 12, a press conference for MBN's 'Current King of Singing 2' was held at the International Conference Room of Nuri Dream Square Business Tower in Mapo District, Seoul. The TOP7 from 'Current King of Singing 2,' including Park Seo-jin, Jin Hae-sung, Enoch, Shin Seung-tae, Choi Su-ho, and Kang Moon-kyung, attended to share their thoughts. TOP5 member Kim Jun-soo was unable to attend due to a theatrical performance.
'Current King of Singing 2' is a survival entertainment program that selects the representative active singer from South Korea who will participate in the 'Korea-Japan King of Singing Contest' in 2025.
On that day, when asked about the teamwork among the TOP7 members, Shin Seung-tae said, "Not yet. Now that it's over, we are preparing to get along well from here. Until now, we were busy doing our own things during the competition, but now that we're the TOP7 and working together as a team, I hope we can become closer with the help of our big brother, Enoch, treating us to delicious food. I'm looking forward to it."
He joked, "Park Seo-jin said he would treat us since he ranked first, but he hasn't treated us to beef yet. I think the first gathering will strengthen our bond, and from that point, we will become closer." He added with a laugh, "While we are already close, I think we need to live like brothers and family moving forward."
In particular, when asked about his plans for the prize money, Park Seo-jin stated, "After tax, about 100 million won will remain, and I plan to donate everything left over." When asked if he consulted with the members, he said, "As I mentioned earlier, there were controversies surrounding fairness, and since I became the king through the choices of many people, I thought it was right to return the love through donations, so I plan to donate." He also mentioned, "I plan to buy the members Hanwoo beef." This brought smiles to the members.
Meanwhile, 'Current King of Singing 2' concluded last month with a nationwide viewership rating of 13.9%, setting its own record.
