Actor Park Bo-gum is igniting his passion for 'Cantabile.'
On the 11th, a production presentation for KBS2's 'The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile' took place at KBS Art Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
On this day, KBS announcer Lee Ye-won hosted the event, which was attended by MC Park Bo-gum, bandmaster Jeong Dong-hwan, and producers Choi Seung-hee, Son Ja-yeon, and Choi Ji-na.
'The Seasons' is the first late-night music program by KBS to adopt a seasonal format, starting with 'Jay Park's Drive' in February 2023, followed by 'Choi Jeong-hoon's Night Park,' 'AKMU's O-Nal O-Bam,' 'Lee Hyo-ri's Red Carpet,' 'Zico's Artist,' and 'Lee Young-ji's Rainbow.' Each MC, with their distinct genre and style, has served as a bridge between musicians and viewers.
'The Seasons,' which has drawn attention with its unpredictable and fresh selection of MCs each season, has revealed that the protagonist of the 7th season is 'the first-ever actor' Park Bo-gum.
In response, Park Bo-gum noted, "Since the program has been running for 33 years, I grew up watching all the guests who have been on every episode. It feels new and special to me. 'Cantabile' means to sing. My personal wish is to return to the very beginning, 33 years ago, with a feeling of starting over, to communicate with many musicians, artists, and actors, and to provide comfort and enjoyment to the audience. This is a significant opportunity and space for me."
He continued, "Right now, my feelings are like that of a new employee. I want to be a supportive colleague to those here and create a joyful journey for the viewers. I am preparing something new." He added, "For example, Dong-hwan said he would compose a new signature song. I am also creating the lyrics and we are exchanging ideas together."
He also said, "(Writing lyrics) is difficult. Through this opportunity, I have experienced the hard work of musicians. That's why I think I'll have the chance to learn more when I talk with the musicians." He mentioned, "Another thing is that when the audience enters, I didn't realize the difference before because I had never sat in the audience, but I have prepared a new playlist. I plan to recommend music that I want the audience to enjoy at every recording session, creating stories that fit the theme of each episode."
Then, producer Choi Seung-hee remarked, "Actually, this is my first time directly creating an opening song. I'm writing the lines myself, and honestly, I've never had an MC with such ambition. Additionally, more than 20,000 people have applied for tickets for the first episode. The competition seems to be fierce, which I interpret as high expectations for 'Cantabile,' so I will prepare more diligently."
