The journey of J-Hope traversing genres continues.
Praise from foreign media for BTS member J-Hope's digital single 'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel),' released on the 7th, continues to flow. They concentrated on J-Hope's new changes and illuminated his expanded musical capabilities.
The American music publication Billboard introduced the new song by saying, "This song completes a dreamy groove with J-Hope's smooth rapping and Miguel's sweet voice." The publication evaluated that "as J-Hope continues his musical journey across genres, he adds another meaningful track to his solo discography while showcasing his artistic spectrum."
The American music publication Consequence of Sound described J-Hope as an artist who traverses the boundaries of rap and vocals, adding that "'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel)' shows a different texture compared to his first solo album 'Jack In The Box,' which was inspired by rock sound."
The American Grammy.com also introduced, "J-Hope has moved away from the old-school rap style he showcased in his first solo album 'Jack in the Box' (2022) and special album 'HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1' (2024) to present a sweet love song alongside Miguel's smooth voice."
In an interview with the famous American music magazine Rolling Stone, J-Hope explained about the new song, "I realized the warmth that comes from stability. I wanted to explore another side of myself while talking about the emotion of 'love,' and I think that this process will become a new inspiration."
He also expressed a solid belief, stating, "I know there are many people who watch and support everything I do. Therefore, I always try not to forget that sense of responsibility." Finally, regarding the upcoming North America tour, he shared, "I believe it will be a tour that shows every aspect of J-Hope. It will be a stage like a window into the whole of who I am."
In addition, numerous foreign media outlets, including the American magazine Teen Vogue and the British music magazine NME, quickly reported on the release of J-Hope's new song.
Meanwhile, J-Hope is set to appear on the popular American NBC program 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' at 12:35 p.m. on the 11th, where he will showcase a collaborative stage with Miguel, who participated in the track's featuring.
