The series touched the hearts of all audiences. They say it’s like 'our mom.' The echoes of Yeom Hye-ran's performance in 'A Story of Deception' brought to mind the lives of all mothers and deeply resonated with viewers.

Released on the 7th, 'A Story of Deception' is a Netflix series that unfolds the adventurous life of the 'mischievous rebel' Ae-soon (played by IU) and 'the hapless iron man' Kwan-sik (played by Park Bo-gum) across the four seasons. Following the immediate release of Parts 1 through 4, it climbed to the top of the Netflix South Korea TOP 10 series and garnered attention both domestically and internationally.

In the series, Yeom Hye-ran plays the role of Ae-soon’s mother, Jeon Gwang-rye. The parents have a debt party, the first husband is bedridden, and the new husband is a slacker. To the life of Gwang-rye, who bears the weight of life, Ae-soon is a daughter who, coming down from the cart, offers to share the burden, a precious yet painful foe. The mother's aching heart, watching her beloved child with the affectionate gaze as she grows up dreaming grand dreams on the island, came to life painfully through Yeom Hye-ran.

Yeom Hye-ran's Jeon Gwang-rye was a strong and passionate mother. The strength of a mother protecting her children shone through both in water and on land with fierce eyes. When Gwang-rye looked at Ae-soon, it was as if her heart melted like snow in spring, radiating warmth and a gentle smile. The warmth of a mother was clearly present in Yeom Hye-ran's gaze and face. Beyond just being Ae-soon's mother, she evoked tears from the hearts of all viewers, reminding them of 'our mom' in every moment.

Through the first episode, which opened the curtain of the plot, viewers began to cultivate affection for Ae-soon through Gwang-rye's perspective. As viewers resonated with Gwang-rye's feelings for her precious child, they also recalled the infinite love received from their own mothers, creating a generational connection. In doing so, the image of a mother, who will always be longed for with the saying, 'Even if both parents die, the child will live,' remained in Yeom Hye-ran's face and voice. Just as Gwang-rye's face vividly remains in front of Ae-soon during bitter moments in life, a new face of Yeom Hye-ran is carved into the viewers' minds, once again leaving them in awe of her performance.

Indeed, once again, it’s Yeom Hye-ran. The performance of Yeom Hye-ran, which viewers can trust, consistently moved audiences in the series 'A Story of Deception,' which will release Parts 5 to 8 and Act 2 exclusively on Netflix on the 14th.
