World-renowned Chinese chef Lu Ching Lai made history in Chinese cuisine on 'It's fortunate if you can rest.'

On the 10th, the 39th episode of the MBC entertainment program 'It's fortunate if you can rest' (hereafter 'It's fortunate') featured world-class Chinese chef Lu Ching Lai and the rising star in the Chinese culinary world, Chef Lim Tae-hoon, who opened a castaway island Chinese restaurant called 'Muin-gak' and served guests. According to the audience measurement firm Nielsen Korea, the broadcast recorded an audience rating of 5.5% (based on national standards), ranking first among all entertainment programs aired on Monday.

That day, executive Kim Dae-ho searched for a new castaway restaurant site with comedians Heo Gyeong-hwan, Kim Min-kyung, and Kang Jae-jun. Despite the worst cold wave since the restaurant's opening, the four of them worked hard to collect seafood such as abalone, stone crab, and conch, filling their bucket.

Next, the master of Chinese cuisine, Chef Lu Ching Lai, who has served as vice president of the World Chinese Cuisine Association, and Chef Lim Tae-hoon, a rising star in Chinese cuisine who made headlines after defeating Lu Ching Lai in a cooking survival program, appeared.

They made 'garlic seafood fried noodles' for the workers who finished collecting seafood. While everyone was amazed at the incredibly fast speed, Lu Ching Lai ended up using up the ingredients as he did while working in a hotel. As a result, the seafood available for the guests became insufficient, and Kim Dae-ho urgently stopped Lu Ching Lai from using more ingredients. However, perhaps due to the ample ingredients, an even more delicious new dish was created, and the workers went back to the sea for the guests.

The challenge they faced this time was catching mullet. Quite a few fish got caught in the net from the first throw. In the studio, Jeong Ho-young remarked that it was "the biggest mullet he had ever seen." However, the captain expressed dissatisfaction, saying it was "the lowest."

If they fail to receive the payment, the opening of 'Muin-gak' would be in jeopardy. The chefs and workers pulled up the next net with even more urgency. The second net was filled with mullet and other fish. The captain smiled at the full haul. The generous captain offered five mullet and a bullet squid as payment.

Upon returning to the castaway island, Lu Ching Lai and Lim Tae-hoon divided the menu and prepared three course dishes. First, Lim Tae-hoon made 'stone crab and sea cucumber cold dish.' At that moment, Kim Dae-ho made a huge blunder by throwing away the cold sauce Lim Tae-hoon had prepared. Everyone was shocked at Kim Dae-ho's first major mistake, as he was usually very careful. Seeing Kim Dae-ho looking surprised and dejected, Heo Gyeong-hwan lightened the mood with a joke, saying, "You said you would be free, and now you're acting freely."

Lim Tae-hoon quickly regained his composure and completed the sauce again. Thanks to this, the guests were able to taste the first course dish without waiting too long. Next, Lim Tae-hoon presented 'stir-fried squid,' which used squid instead of chicken. The 'stir-fried squid,' with a different texture from the traditional dish, garnered admiration from the guests.

The final dish was prepared by Lu Ching Lai. He proclaimed, "I will make it grand," and made 'mullet chili sweet and sour.' This new Chinese dish was comparable to the whole fried sea bream 'sweet and sour bream' made by the stalwart of 'It's fortunate,' chef Lee Yeon-bok. He scored the mullet in a lattice pattern, creating a visual akin to dragon scales.

The scored mullet flesh blossomed beautifully in the oil. Lu Ching Lai's specialty, carving, enhanced the presentation as he delicately sculpted bok choy. To top it off, he drizzled the sweet and sour chili sauce he prepared over the fried mullet to complete the dish. The guests, witnessing an unprecedented visual feast not seen before in 'It's fortunate,' expressed their satisfaction as they enjoyed their meal both visually and gastronomically.

Meanwhile, the teaser that aired towards the end of the broadcast featured Ahn Jung-hwan's childhood friend Choo Sung-hoon, raising viewers' anticipation.
