The group Infinite member Lee Sung-jong won a ruling in a payment lawsuit against his former agency.
Lee Sung-jong recently won a civil lawsuit for unpaid settlement payment filed against his former agency, SPK Entertainment.
Lee Sung-jong, who signed an exclusive contract with SPK Entertainment in August 4th, did not receive the support necessary for broadcasting grants, fan meetings, and album releases, including the payment promised at the time of the contract.
His formal request for a correction regarding the notice of content and contract violations directed at SPK Entertainment was not accepted, and after continuing to receive no response, Lee Sung-jong notified the termination of the exclusive contract last year. Following this, a compulsory adjustment was established in the request for a suspension of the validity of the exclusive contract, allowing him to be free.
At the time, Lee Sung-jong also filed a lawsuit for the payment of settlement amounts for over two years of activities, including Infinite activity settlement payments, YouTube grants, and Japanese fan meeting settlements. And on the 28th of last month, over a year after filing the lawsuit, he finally won that lawsuit.
The court ruled, "The defendant (SPK Entertainment) must pay the plaintiff (Lee Sung-jong) the settlement amount calculated at a rate of 6% per year from April 21, 2023, until February 28, 2025, and at a rate of 12% per year from then until the full payment date."
The Infinite, of which Lee Sung-jong is a member, made a comeback on the 6th with their 8th mini-album 'Like Infinite.' They will hold their debut 15th-anniversary tour 'Limited Edition' encore concert on April 12th and 13th at Inspire Arena in Incheon Yeongjongdo, meeting with fans.
