Next is a Q&A related to Seulgi’s second mini-album ‘Accidentally On Purpose.’

Q. It has been about 2 years and 5 months since your first solo album, and now you're releasing your second mini-album. How do you feel?

- First of all, I am happy to greet you with a solo album after a long time. I think we pondered a lot with the staff about how to capture my growth in this album. I hope you enjoy it as we prepared it interestingly.

Q. Please introduce the title track 'Baby, Not Baby.' Is there a reason you chose it as the title track?

- The title track 'Baby, Not Baby' contains a message of focusing on my true self rather than conforming to the expectations of how others see me or the roles they expect. When I first heard the music, the character I could express was vividly clear, and I felt it would be fun to work on the song, which is why I chose it as the title track.

Q. You challenged a different 'bad girl' styling through the album jacket and music video. How was that? If there was a reaction that stood out to you, what was it?

- It was fun to present a look and concept that are contrasting to what I have shown in Red Velvet. The character I expressed in the album comes out like a mischievous child committing all sorts of antics, and since I was doing things I would never normally do, I think people around me found it surprising and enjoyed watching.

Q. What do you think are key points to enjoy while watching the music video for 'Baby, Not Baby'? Also, was there an episode that stood out during filming?

- Every part feels like a viewpoint to enjoy. I hope you don't miss my adorable moments, the constantly changing styling, and the performance with the dancers. I think the one-man show shot at the very end with messy hair and smudged makeup is the most memorable. Since it was filmed last, I was deeply immersed in the character and went a bit crazy while filming. (laughs)

Q. You can’t leave out powerful performances when it comes to Seulgi. What part did you pay the most attention to while preparing the performances for this album?

- I really made sure to coordinate a lot with the dancers. We practiced extensively to capture the detailed feelings of the choreography in accordance with the lyrics. Since it’s choreography that requires a strong core, I worked hard on core exercises as well.

Q. Aside from the title track, which b-side track would you recommend from this album?

- I recommend 'Praying.' It was the last track to be recorded for the album. While I was considering other songs, I felt I couldn't miss this one, so I strongly advocated for it to be included in this album, which makes me feel even more attached to it. I also love that I can showcase my deeper voice throughout the lows and highs.

Q. You participated in writing the lyrics for 'Weakness' from this album, following your first solo album. How was this process for you? Is there a point you would like listeners to focus on?

- I think the lyrics came out faster than I expected while working on this song. I wrote various lyrics to match the lovely mood of the song, and I was happy that mine was chosen. Sometimes, having a crush can feel like a weakness that you'd rather not let the other person know. I hope everyone thinks of someone they like while listening.

Q. What are your plans for activities regarding this album, and what goals do you want to achieve?

- When I think about it, I realize I’ve never set limits on myself. I enjoy challenges and take pleasure in showing new sides of myself, and this sense of achievement has motivated me. I was particularly happy to capture Seulgi’s fun side, as if breaking out of a shell with this album. Since it’s an album that I worked hard on, I hope it becomes a great gift for my fans, Lovies. I want to perform in various places, receiving huge support from Lovies.

Q. Last year was significant for you, including the 10th anniversary of Red Velvet's debut and starting your personal YouTube channel. What kind of year do you want to create in 2025?

- As I start 2025 by showing a new side through my solo album, I hope it becomes a year where I can present more good content. Personally, I want to take many lessons to develop myself further.

Q. Lastly, please say a word to fans around the world who have been waiting for your comeback.

- I am greeting you with a solo album after a long time. I have received all your supportive messages while you've been waiting. Thanks to you, I think I was able to deliver the music I want to make even better. Thank you for always being a great source of strength! I will repay you with performances!! Thank you. I love you.
