The group ILLIT's 'Almond Chocolate' will be reborn in a Korean version.
According to the agency Belift Lab on the 10th, ILLIT (Yoona, Minju, Mocha, Wonhee, Iroha)'s 'Almond Chocolate (Korean Ver.)' will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on that day.
'Almond Chocolate' is the theme song for the Japanese movie 'I Don't Just Like Faces,' which premiered on the 7th, and the original song was first released in February on Valentine's Day, receiving much love.
The song entered the upper ranks of the Oricon 'Daily Digital Single Ranking' upon release and reached No. 1 on the AWA Music real-time rising chart and the Spotify Japan daily rising chart. It is unusual for a K-pop rookie group that has not released a formal album in Japan to be selected as the vocalist for a local movie theme song and to achieve such results.
Along with the popularity of the Japanese original song, Wonhee's three-octave high notes and the upgraded vocals of the members also gained attention. Their new style, which adds a clear tone and a poignant emotion, has become a hot topic among fans, leading to a flood of requests for the Korean version.
With a bright and lively sound and delicate lyrics, it is an ILLIT-style sweet and bitter confession song, and expectations are building for a new seasonal song suitable for White Day.
Belift Lab noted, "In addition to the Japanese original song, the Korean version will also allow fans to feel ILLIT's lovely charm," and added, "We hope it becomes a special gift for GLLIT (the fandom name)."
