G-Dragon and An Seong-jae reflected on the past and formed a sense of empathy.
In the Nov. 9 broadcast of MBC's entertainment program 'Good Day' (directed by Kim Tae-ho, produced by TEO), An Seong-jae appeared and met with G-Dragon.
On that day, An Seong-jae, who said he started cooking at the age of 24, noted, "The executive chef was 32 years old when he received his first star. I thought I had to achieve it earlier than him. Then, at 30, I became the executive chef, opened a restaurant at 34, and received a star within a year at 35."
He added, "It may be a cliché, but when people ask, 'Who is the top in this field?' I sought out the best. I think I progressed faster than anyone else because I worked with the mindset that I needed to learn everything."
In response, Defconn asked, "Aren't you supposed to do basic cleaning for about two years to have that goal?" and An Seong-jae replied, "I cleaned for two years. It's not easy to commit for two years. That two years laid the foundation for everything."
In contrast, G-Dragon surprised An Seong-jae by confessing that he practiced for 11 years. He said, "I spent five years at SM and six years at YG. It was before the concept of trainees existed. I was just a trainee without salary. We went to school, changed our clothes, cleaned, and learned. When our seniors practiced, we were careful not to disturb them. We practiced in hidden corners, secretly observing. 'Practice, you never know what can happen.'"
