Actress Park Han-byul will appear on a variety show for the first time in six years since the Burning Sun controversy involving her husband, Yoo In-seok.
TV Chosun's 'Dad and Me' said, "Actress Park Han-byul will appear on 'Dad and Me'" and noted that "recording has already been completed, and she will share her daily life with her father. However, the broadcast date is still under discussion."
The 'Dad and Me' program, which is approaching its second season, allows a father and child who feel closer than anyone else in the world yet sometimes feel further apart to open their hearts and have a time to understand and forgive each other. Park Han-byul is the only daughter of former soccer player Park Chae-hwa, whose father has served as the coach of the Seongji Middle and High School soccer team, budget FC coach, and the Seoul City Hall coach. Interest is rising as the two have rarely appeared together on a variety show.
Earlier, Park Han-byul's activities were halted in 2017 when the Burning Sun incident involving former Yuri Holdings CEO Yoo In-seok sparked controversy. It had a significant social impact beyond the entertainment industry, making it impossible for her to continue her activities as an actress. She moved to Jeju with her two sons as quickly as possible to live quietly. At the time, she couldn't escape questions like "Didn't the wife know about her husband's controversy?" resulting in a deluge of negative comments and scrutiny.
Park Ha-neul, who effectively gave up acting after the 2019 MBC drama 'Loves When It's Sad,' opened a cafe in Jeju and transformed into a business owner, living a second life, and began to communicate gradually through social media.
Park Han-byul signed an exclusive contract with Chan Entertainment last December and announced her full-scale return to activities, adding that she will also return to her main job as an actress through a short-form drama.
